The Space

Watch the wildlife and enjoy the beautiful ocean view of the famous Kealakekua Bay all the way to Honaunau (Place of Refuge) from many areas on the farm. Centrally located near many attractions including Painted Church, botanical gardens, and many great snorkeling bays; yet only 30 minutes from Kailua-Kona.

Guest Access

Interaction with Guests

The managers are located on site and will be happy to help out with any directions or ideas on local attractions. If you prefer a quiet, uninterrupted stay, they will give you your space to enjoy your vacation.

The Neighborhood

We are close to some of the most beautiful coastline in Hawai'i. There are many bays and beaches in which to snorkel/dive and you may get lucky enough to swim with the dolphins and turtles! During whale season you can enjoy watching their behavior from many of the close local areas. Don't forget a trip to the volcano and other places of interest here on Hawai'i. You can fill your days with many wonderful sites or spend it relaxing here on our little piece of paradise.

Getting around

Parking is free on the property, however we strongly encourage a car rental as most attractions are not within comfortable walking distance. We do have a car rental available as well as airport pickup; please inquire if interested.

Other Things to Note

Because we are located in a tropical climate we encourage you to bring some mosquito repellent for your comfort. Also, the Hawaiian sun can be intense, so bring your favorite sun block to avoid a sunburn.

  • We had a wonderful time visiting the Big Island thanks to our stay at Paliuli Farm! Coralie and Chris are the nicest hosts we have ever stayed with and were very helpful and knowledgeable - perfect for us first time visitors. Their home is lovely and our room (plus shared kitchen and bathroom) were very clean, organized and well furnished. They were very accommodating with our late arrival (plane delays) and flexible departure. Borrowing snorkel gear was a huge treat as pristine spots (two step pond, captains cook monument) are right next door! It was so peaceful and relaxing to stay away from it all, falling asleep to the sounds of jungle frogs and waking up to sweeping views of the ocean. And its only a short drive to Kona and other attractions! We can't wait to come back! Mahalo!

Aloha Martha! We are so happy you both enjoyed your stay here on the farm. It was a treat to meet you and watch you have fun while exploring all the diverse beauty we are so lucky to live nearby. Mahalo for staying with us and we hope to see you again soon!

  • Fantastic place, great location on the island. Our only negative is that we only booked 2 nites. ..If you can, make this your place to stay, Coralie made it all the details easy, and yes, the outdoor shower was great.

So glad you had a good time here! Mahalo for staying with us and sorry we didn't get a chance to give you a proper goodbye. Aloha!

  • A friend and I were visiting the Big Island only for the weekend (I live on Oahu), and we were only on the west side of the island for one night. Staying with Coralie and Chris on Paliuli was the best decision... not only was our room and the farm itself perfect for an over night stay, but Coralie and Chris were such interesting, well-traveled, welcoming people! Staying on a farm, as opposed to a hotel, really added to our experience on the island. I'm planning on taking my niece to the Big Island in the next month or so, and will definitely be staying at Paliuli again. Thank you Coralie and Chris for everything :)

P.S. Is it kind of weird that our favorite part about our room was the semi-outdoor shower?

Aloha! We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and our Bali Bathroom is a favorite of many travelers that come to stay. Mahalo Ashley for staying with us and we are looking forward to seeing you again soon!

  • Our stay at Paliuli Farm was very enjoyable and comfortable, with room to move about and explore the tropical setting. The farm is in a great location to visit local beaches and snorkeling spots, and the hosts were friendly and helpful, pointing out places to go and things to see. The shared kitchen and bath areas were neat and tidy, and well organized. The kitchen is set up for travelers that want to do most of their own cooking, and the outdoor dining area has a great ocean view. Thanks Kris and Coralie, we had a great stay.

  • Our visit with Paliuli Farm was very enjoyable and convenient to the key attractions in that part of the island. Our hosts Coralie and Kris are very friendly, thoughtful, and generous. They even steered us towards 2 different local beaches we had not been to before and we enjoyed them both immensely. The accommodations (Plumeria Room) were down home Island style and quite comfortable. We also made good use of the screened kitchen and lanai which is shared with other guests. It was especially nice to be able to eat fresh fruit made available for us from the farm (seasonal of course). We are grateful to have met Coralie and Kris and look forward to future visits!

  • Thank you Coralie and Kris for an amazing stay on your coffee farm!
Everything has been said in the other reviews. Coralie and Kris really love what they are doing and spoil the guests with lots of fresh fruits and a lot of tips what to visit and where to go. Staying on a coffe farm in Hawaii was really a great experience.
We loved the outdoor bathroom, kitchen and lanai where we had a great time talking with our hosts and the other guests.
The farm is conviently located to many of the Big Islands attractions and really close to the best snorkeling spots on the islands. Snorkeling with the dolphins there is just amazing! We would have loved to stay a few nights more!

  • Our stay on the Big Island started and ended at the Paliuli Farm: just the way it should be. What a wonderful place. The hosts get to live on this beautiful coffee farm all the time. So great that they could share it with us for a few days. The grounds are a farm loaded with tropical fruit and trees. The day and night sounds of birds and frogs are exotic and soothing at the same time. It sits 1000 feet above the ocean but still close enough to see whale spouts. The cottage was very comfortable. We stayed in both the Jacaranda and the Plumeria rooms and found them both very comfortable. There is a nice shared bathroom and the shared kitchen is very well equipped. There is a large ocean view lanai next to the kitchen. We enjoyed our many conversations with our wonderful hosts very much. They both went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.

Aloha Rebecca and Dave! We absolutely enjoyed having you stay here on the farm and are so happy you enjoyed your time here. It was nice to get to know you and a big mahalo for coming back to stay with us a second time. We wish you all the best and look forward to a day we may meet again.

  • A lovely place. There are just two rooms here, with a very cool shared bathroom (opens to the jungle!) and a well stocked shared kitchen that has an eating space with a view. The hosts are incredibly kind people. I would definitely stay again.

About
The management team of Kris and Coralie have traveled many beautiful places in the world and have settled down here on the big island of Hawai'i. We enjoy meeting new people and live the aloha spirit. You will often find us playing in the beautiful ocean at one of the many beaches or bays that are located within a few minutes drive of the farm. The owner who fell in love with the big Island in 1982 bought this amazing property in 2009. He spends part of his time on the mainland and the other here on this island of paradise which he considers 'home'.
