About this listing

The space

Interaction with guests

Other things to note

First, Marco is the world's best host, hands down. He was so communicative with us and even went so far as to wait for us in Rome when we had difficulty getting into the town. Next, he gave us an amazing tour of the town and the beautiful nature. He introduced us to the people of the town and we made friends for the rest of the trip that invited us to dinner parties. This town is amazing and difficult to get to for a good reason. There weren't any other tourists during our stay and everyone in the town was so welcoming and kind. There's no WIFI in the home which I think is perfect because we just took the time to read and relax on the terrace. We'll be back! We love you Marco!!

If your interested in history, culture ànd nature, this is a fine place, in a nice house, with friendly and concerned people around, few of them even speak (some) English, isn't that great? (and the rest keep trying to explain, in that lovely Italian), Koen and Katlijne (from Belgium)

Incredible! If you want a totally quiet and relaxing place to spend a few days look no further. Marco did everything possible to make our visit unforgettable! The house is so cozy and warm. Waking up and leaving was soooo hard to do as one wants to stay in this wonderful town next to a castle. Don't miss the chance to hike in the neighboring Simbruini national park and ring the bell at the top. It was a memorable trip to Trevi Nel Lazio!

Response from Marco:
Ciao Carlos.

Hi Koen and Katiljine, A few days ago, I was in Trevi, I met Salvatore, Armido and other people and talked to me about you. How you were and found yourself in trevi. Salvatore was impressed by your knowledge of plants. It is a pleasure for me to come home, loving people of nature and simple things. Thanks for the nice review!

Perfect location for those who want to stay away from crowd and dive into the past in a real, non touristic village of central Italy. Just one hour driving from Rome. Trevi is a nice town and Simbruini mountains all around are amazing with a lot to discover. Marco is very attentive and nice: he was in Trevi the day we arrived (we walked from Subiaco along one stage of the "Cammino di San Benedetto", 17 km, together with our 5 years old daughter) and he did not hesitate to pick up us by car to avoid us the last climb to get the apartment located in the very top of Trevi, just in front of the Castle. Thank you Marco, and see you again!

Absolutely fantastic experience of rural Italy in the beautiful mountains! This place was tucked away in a precious town in between two of my work locations and I am so very grateful that I found it! It is mostly a vacation destination for local people in Italy and quiet this time of year with few residents in a very, very old beautiful village. Marco, our host, was absolutely incredible with his welcome and tour of the town! He took us around introducing us to many of his friends, who were so warm in welcoming us! The one restaurant that was open was fantastic -- run by a beautiful couple that went out of their way to help us understand the menu and enjoy a fantastic meal - pasta with shrimp, rabbit cacciatore... Everything was delicious!! Marco's home was just perfect for two couples. Everything you would need in the kitchen, nice warm water in the showers and - my favorite -- the beautiful, handmade afghans on the beds. Just gorgeous! There is also a lovely veranda that we were not able to use because of the weather, but so nice if it was sunny! The fireplace also was wonderful - Marco brought us a ton of wood so we were able to sit around that beautiful fire at the end of our night. I couldn't recommend more highly this precious home!

Hidden gem. Tucked away and a m adventure to navigate (winding hills and narrow roads), but you don't reach such places with ease. Well worth the venture and Marco is an absolutely wonderful accommodating host. I hope to visit again sometime in the future. From Canada all the way to Lazio.

My name is Marco Iacobucci , I was born and live in Rome , the city of the ancient Empire of Caesar. In life working as a photographer and journalist. Gossip , sports , editorial and corporate , are my main activities . I follow football teams Roma and Lazio , when they play at home in the Olympic Stadium in Rome.
Thanks to my job , I had the opportunity to travel a lot, and visit beautiful places. I then had the opportunity to experience the hospitality of many peoples . And doing a lot of experience . I liked get to in a place and be welcomed with all the attention .
In 2010 my father died, he lived in a house in a village 80 km away from Rome, Trevi nel Lazio. A small unknown village in the middle of Simbruinis.
After his death, I inherited 2 houses in Trevi nel Lazio, one inside and one outside the city . The house in the city is a very old house , was built around the year 1200 . My ancestors have always lived in there . When I walked in, there were very few things , an old table , old beds , a few cups and some glasses.
At first I was really desperate and depressed, I did not know what to make of that house, because I needed a lot of money to restructure it. I decided to sell it, and I found a person who offered me lots of money. The house is very large, and is situated on a square where there is a medieval castle , in fact when you walk out the door and you look up , you see this huge castle.
I had already decided to sell, but then one day a friend of mine, an archaeologist, came to visit my country Trevi, she had traveled the world for work, she was very surprised by the beauty of the place and told me not to sell the house because it was unique.
He told me to try to rent it to tourists who are looking for particular homes. She convinced me.
For work, last year I went to Brazil, I came across the website Airbnb, and booked some houses in Brazil. When I went to Brazil I was welcomed with open arms by my host.
I liked it so much the philosophy of Airbnb that I decided to do it myself with my home.
When I returned, I started to clean the house, painting it and furnishing it. I decided to try this new experience, trying to bring in tourists to the country Trevi, where there has never been tourism.
In addition to my work as a photographer, I decided to commit myself to this new challenge.

Marco
