Description

The Space

Guests have access to our private salt water pool. In the cooler weather, we turn on the pool solar panels (usually still too cold for most people mid-Nov to mid-March) Breakfast is help yourself yogurt, breakfast bars, tea, coffee.

There are 3 artists / writers/ musicians living and working in this art compound, so someone is usually around to help with directions and details. We are quiet, nature loving, literate, birdwatching, gardening collective. We have traveled the world and welcome guests to share their stories.

Step thru our door, and you will forget you are inner city of the 4th largest metropolis in the US.

Guest Access

There is lots of free street parking. Gardens, pool, outdoor decks. Mosquitoes are out. Our yard is a garden for Butterflies, with lots of host plants that are specific for native butterflies. We do not use pesticides, so we have lots of lizards, butterflies and other bugs including mosquitoes. Although, we try to create an environment that does not encourage mosquito population, we still have them with us. I put out OFF spray for guest use. It is part of living in the sub tropics we locals deal with all the time.

Interaction with Guests

I'll try to meet you, but if you will be arriving very late or when I am out, I will give you directions for the key and how to access the space. Breakfast is serve yourself: coffee, tea, yogurt and breakfast bars.

The Neighborhood

The Heights is a cool, artistic neighborhood that is undergoing change. New restaurants and bars are opening. 19th street has lots of funky shops and art galleries. Streets are safe for biking and we are connected to downtown with a dedicated bike trail. Restaurants, SSQQ Dance Studio, and bus stop are all close by.
