A large comfortable studio separate from the main house with internet and cable tv. Hancock Park is a fabulous neighborhood many restaurants and shops within walking distance. Very close to Melrose Ave, Larchmont Village, The Grove and Downtown
PLEASE MAKE ENQUIRY BEFORE BOOKING - THANKYOU :)
Large comfortable studio with TV and internet, private bathroom and balcony. Close to restaurants and supermarkets, walking distance to Larchmont Blvd (coolest place in LA ;) where there is a Starbucks, coffee bean and tea leaf, Peets coffee also a rite-aid, pizza restaurants, 2 sushi places, Italian, Greek and many more. Also walking distance to huge grocery store and Melrose Avenue. The Beverly Center and The Grove are 7 mins away by car. Buses are abundant and easy.
Wifi/TV/DVD/cable is incuded. There is a redbox at the supermarket to rent DVDs, I have a few but mainly hulu and netlix! I also have a huge collection of books which you are most welcome to borrow (does anyone read anymore)?
This is Hancock Park and a very safe area for walking around in. Unfortunately there is only street parking which is not a problem on weekends but can be during the week. :( I also have a couple of extremely friendly cats that like to hang out (especially with new people ) :)
The Bed is a queen and apparently very comfy. Also I have included the 14% required city tax. Of course I will provide clean sheets and towels, soaps and shampoos, and if you have a request I will do my best to have it for you when you arrive.
Guests can have access to the main house including the living area and very large kitchen. There is a separate entrance.
Interaction with Guests
Because I work all day Monday through Friday and sometimes weekends and evenings I can't really have as much interaction as perhaps I would like. I know the area extremely well and will be happy to help advise and give directions and any help I can :)
Hancock Park is beautiful and full of charm, huge mansions down the street. Paramount Studios is an 8 min walk away and Larchmont village about the same. Everything you could need is within walking distance.
This is a very central neighborhood, easy access to downtown, close to Sunset blvd and Hollywood Blvd, Melrose Avenue, The Grove, buses are easy and accessible.
Please send letter of enquiry before booking. :)
There is smoking allowed on the patio but not inside the room please. This is a family house and we work :( so please no partying, there are also neighbours under the studio so I would please ask consideration of noise level, especially after 10:30pm This studio has it's own entrance up narrow stairs. I can put a microwave and small fridge in there if you need it. I would love if you didn't wear shoes in the room and leave them at the door please if you remember. I charge a small flat $10 cleaning fee regardless of amount of stay. Unfortunately I have to charge city tax of 14% which is already included in the rate. I don't charge a deposit so please be kind and leave it as you found it. I am pretty easy going and would prefer my guests to be the same :)
Jedda was a fantastic host! She was kind, attentive, highly communicative, and very hospitable. She also equipped the room with water bottles, snacks, instant coffee, an electric kettle, small toiletries, and assorted towels. The value of the listing when you consider that it is a private studio with a bathroom, that it has it's own entrance (as well as the option for access to the main house), parking space in the back, and is so centrally located in the beautiful Hancock Park neighborhood of LA - you simply can't beat it!
It was a pleasure to meet Jedda and to stay at her lovely studio. Jedda was a very generous, thoughtful and kind host. Her apartment is beautiful, comfortable and quiet. The location was very convenient to everything in LA. Thank you for everything, Jedda! I hope to stay here again soon.
As before, I was quite pleased with this place. Jedda was even more supportive by providing snacks, tea, and fruit. It is a great location, is private, and has a private bathroom as well.
My stay at Jedda's lovely studio room was nothing but positive. The room was spacious, clean and included a private restroom. The bed is huge and comfortable, and towels are provided along with bonus amenities (snacks and such.) Jedda is a gracious and helpful host, I felt very welcomed in her home! Very grateful for this experience and to have stayed with her.
An excellent host and a great location; the space itself was good, too. I was traveling alone, but there was plenty of space for several people (though I can't remember what Jedda's limit is on number of guests, as that wasn't a concern for me). The bed was just okay, but I was happy that it was a queen size (I'm rather tall, so hang off a full-size bed) and there was also a futon that looked like it could be made into a bed. The bathroom is small, but adequate and it was great to have access to wifi.
You can access the room by a private entrance by going up some fire escape steps (it's easy, but narrow), or Jedda is happy to give access through the main house during daytime hours when she is around. She was very accommodating and was clearly eager to ensure I enjoyed my stay. She noted that the room was a bit chilly, so offered a space heater. I chose not to take it, as there was plenty of bedding to keep warm at night and I wasn't planning to be around much during the day. She also provided some snacks and breakfast food, which was a pleasant surprise!
Overall, it was a great experience and I'd recommend this as a good place to stay.
It was a wonderful stay at Jedda's. She very attentive and the room was very clean. It was a tiring night for me when I got there, but I had an amazing night of sleep and was recharged the next day. It's the best kind of stay a traveller could ask for. I will be returning to Jedda's the next time I'm in town.
Jedda and her family were very welcoming and she has a very open and kind heart. She is really good about anticipating your desires; I mentioned having oatmeal at work in a random conversation, and then the next morning she provided some items to make oatmeal!
This is a nice private room & bath, and is a great location for either some peace and solitude or window shopping / good dining.
