We lived in this apartment for years, and we love it with all our heart. We hope you'll feel at home and you'll enjoy it as much as we did.
Beautiful and elegant apartment, fully renovated, in the very center of Rome, in the heart of the Jewish Ghetto, few meters from Campo de Fiori and Piazza Navona.
The 15 th century ancient building is located in the beautiful piazza Mattei, which has been used several times as a location for movies and commercials. Most recently has been chosen by Woody Allen for his latest movie "To Rome with love" (summer 2011). The square, very central still quite, is also known as piazza delle Tartarughe ("Turtles" square), after the beautiful fountain by the famous architecture and sculptor GianLorenzo Bernini.

Very good location and so quiet thanks to the pedestrian area. Luca was helpful to us. Thank you.
The apartment is perfectly located for foodies--right in the middle of the historic Jewish Ghetto and literally a two minute walk to some of the best restaurants in town--and the ruins of the Portico D'Ottavia.
The apartment itself is nicely proportioned. The ringing of the church bells in the morning and evening is especially charming. You barely need an alarm clock if you want to wake up at 7 a.m. The only drawback is the size of the bathroom and its slightly awkward layout. But that inconvenience won't stop you from enjoying the area and Rome.
We are just back from a wonderful trip to Italy. This was our first time using airbnb and would most definitely recommend the service.
We stayed at Chiara's place for two nights and highly recommend. The location in the Jewish ghetto was central enough for us to walk to all the major tourist attractions and quiet enough in the evening for sleeping.
The apartment is very spacious and the washer/dryer worked really well. In addition our hosts were kind of enough to leave a nice surprise bottle of champagne to aid us in celebrating my wife's birthday.
We had great stay in Rome! The apartment is very well located, still it is in an area inhabited by locals and in a quiet neighborhood. The Piazza delle Tartarughe, just steps away, is very cute spot.
Even though we didn't meet Luca and Chiara they were very responsive to our questions and helpful with their recommendations.
Hope to be back some time soon!
The location for this apartment was excellent. Very close to everything (public trans, restaurants, etc) but was indeed very quiet and safe. The little square with the fountain - just steps from the main door - was a gem. The key'ed elevator was useful, though a bit small (typical for European buildings that have new elevators added in).
The restaurant recommendations were excellent. Communication with Luca (Chiara's husband) was easy and very clear and he was very responsive. Someone met us with the key and we were good to go with no issues.
The 1-bedroom apartment itself is very large by any standard. Plenty of room for luggage and to spread out. Bed was on the hard side, but comfortable. Couch and living room area was nice and big. Wifi was super-strong and there are plenty of outlets. Bathroom was spacious and everything was working fine.
It was a bit hot outside... and getting the temperature comfortable enough required sleeping with both the fan on (in the bedroom) and the A/C unit on in the living room.
Overall a very good experience, would definitely return. Thanks!
We stayed for 7 nights and couldn't have been happier. Location was amazing and we walked everywhere. We utilized the kitchen, washing machine, and the wireless internet. Everything worked flawlessly. Chiara was very quick with responses to our questions. I would definitely recommend her flat we had an amazing stay.
Stayed for 4 days, and had a great time:
- Communication prior to the stay was perfect and very easy.
- The apartment is nicely located in walking distance from some of the greatest places and very good restaurants in Rome.
- The area is historic and has a beautiful atmosphere and is not too noisy.
- The Apartment building is ancient and worth a study in itself
- The Apartment was clean and well equipped, and cleared for personal belongings.
- Wi-Fi fast and stable.
I give it my best recommendations.
The location of the apartment is really good, close enough to the biggest spot of Rome so you dont depend so much of the (not so good) roman public transports. The apartment is charming and quiet, basicly equipped but enough for a short stay. We had a bad end of our stay because the new tenants came on Sunday at 11 hours while we were not ready yet (the check out was settled at 12 hours). I was on the shower and believe that it was not nice at all...
We stayed in Chiara and Luca's place for 5 days. We had a very good experience; the place is spacious, quiet, comfortable and well equipped.
The location is absolutely perfect; right in the heart of the Jewish area. Rome is a very touristic city, but this neighbourhood is where normal people live; a nice contrast to other areas in town.
We had a little issue with the showerhead that was coming apart. The housekeeper Martha was there in a couple of hours to solve the problem; very accurate.
We would certainly recommend this appartment, and would also come back to it with a larger group, maybe the kids.
This was our first trip to Rome and our first experience with Airbnb. Chiara's husband, Luca, promptly responded to our inquires and book our stay. Communication was prompt and accurate. They arranged to have someone meet us at their apartment when we arrived in Rome. The bottle of sparkling wine left on the dining table was a very nice touch (it was our anniversary).
The apartment was just as described in the description and was perfect for our party of three (two adults and a 12 year old) . The apartment was clean, had ample towels and the bed was comfortable. When the windows were open, there was occasional noise from Plaza Mattei, which did not bother us. The kitchen is small but adequate for cooking meals and the washing machine was very handy. The bathroom is compact, but perfectly adequate. The bathtub has a shower attachment and we had sufficient hot water for showering.
The apartment location was ideal for our stay. It is located just off Plaza Mattei in the heart of the Jewish Ghetto. There are a number of bars and restaurants within a block that provided great meals and non-touristy, local atmosphere. We walked everywhere from our apartment, including the Vatican, the Coliseum, Trevi fountain, etc. There is a taxi stand just up the street to connect to the airport, and a number of bus stops nearby.
Caveats? There is scaffolding and construction on an internal elevator. This was described to us before our stay and was not a problem. There are a few short flights of stairs to reach the apartment. Again, this was described and was not a problem for us, but if you are carrying a lot of heavy luggage, be prepared.
Overall, we were completely satisfied with Luca and Chiara, and our stay in their apartment.
