Welcome to our peaceful, spacious, country home: a world away from the city and a short walk from Bundanoon village. An adults only haven, where you can wake to birdsong, meet our famous mini donks, stargaze at the firepit, chill on the veranda, read in front of the log fire, bathe "'al fresco" or have long, lazy meals at one of our 3 dining tables. 10 mins walk to Bundy's cafes and shops. 1 km from the waterfalls and walking tracks of Morton National Park. And don't miss the local wineries!

The space
We've designed this to be a perfect place for us to get away and relax with our friends, so we hope that's what you'll experience too. This is our home, and we are delighted to share it with others, however we can’t accommodate children.

The kitchen, dining area and lounge all flow into one so it's ideal for chilling out over long lunches that turn into dinner - and we have plenty of board games on hand. There is a big TV and plenty of books for those that don't like games . The TV has Netflix, google play etc but no terrestrial channels.

The kitchen has a big gas range, coffee machine and top of the range appliances, cookware and tableware. We love entertaining and there is pretty much everything you could need in the kitchen - if there's something specific, just check before you book / come.

There are 3 large bedrooms; each has a heater; a near silent ceiling fan, and electric blankets on the bed. They all have feather and down duvets and pillows and 100% cotton bedding. There are bath towels in each room and hand towels in the bathroom.

The dragonfly bedroom gets amazing dawn views - we have not put curtains on the end window as it’s so lovely to lie in bed and watch the dawn. This is the bedroom we use. We keep some of our personal things in here - but there is still plenty of storage. All the other rooms have curtains on all windows and doors onto the veranda.

The bathroom is quite special - it's our favourite room in the house. There is not much better than a glass of wine in that bath, with the windows open watching sunset. And the double shower is very decadent. There are bins, a hairdryer, an iron and home made bath salts in the bottom drawers of the vanities in the bathroom. The ironing board is in the spare loo - which is an eco loo, so the hand basin flows into the cistern - recycling the water.

If the weather is good, there is a dining table and fire pit in the grounds and another dining table, a gas BBQ and bean bags on the wrap around veranda. We also have a Tesla charging station for use of our guests who are lucky enough to have Teslas (sadly not us)!

We are on 2.5 acres that are not "improved" yet but full of birds, butterflies and the odd wombat. Sit on the wrap around veranda or by the fire pit (toasting marshmallows!) and enjoy the amazing sunrises and sunsets over the nearby Morton National Park. Our mini donkeys live here in their own paddock - even when we are away. You can ignore them, or they love to be fussed!

When we are here, we love to do yoga on the veranda or in the gardens; it's a perfect way to start the day and the lovely Mel will be happy to come and take a private class for you if you're interested. Let us know when you book and we will share her details. We can also organise wine to be here on your arrival and advise on where to get good supplies for your stay locally or where to eat out - just drop us a note before you arrive.

This is our home, so we are adding to it and improving it all the time - we hope you love it as much as we do. All the pictures are real and not photo shopped - for more pictures, check us out @cityorsticks.

We are avid users of airbnb ourselves and love our local area, so any questions, just ask us.

Where you’ll be

Bundanoon, New South Wales, Australia

Bundanoon is a fantastic village and we are about 7 mins slow walk from the centre. The train station can take you to Sydney or Canberra (both about 2 hours) or Moss Vale and Bowral (one or two stops).

In the village there is everything you could need - coffee shops, great places for lunch, a butcher, general store ... and much more. We have added details of our fave places to eat in Bundanoon to the manual in the house. There is a regular Sunday makers market and most weekends there is something on in the village hall. We are also close to about 18 wineries and there is a great cycle route that will take you to 4 or 5 quite easily!

We came to Australia on a 6 month "round the world trip" in 2009. Our planned 2 month stay has now lasted over 10 years and we've fitted in another 12 months off and lots of little trips - so we know airbnb from both sides.

We spend a lot of time and love renovating Fulford Folly in Bundanoon and we love sharing it with people when we are away for work or having fun. The latest update has added an ensuite to one of the bedrooms, double glazing in all the bedrooms, a new laundry and some redecorating.

We have loads of tips for things to do and places to visit; we love eating out, drinking in good bars and finding fun and interesting things to do, so are happy to help with recommendations - just ask.

We hope you enjoy our home and we look forward to getting to stay in other people's homes as part of our airbnb experience!

During your stay

We won't be around but will send you a detailed welcome letter and will available on the phone if you have any questions. We have to make sure the minis are fed, so someone will pop by each day to let them out and put them to bed. They won’t come to the house - so you may not even notice!
