Convenient With a Beautiful View

House - Private room · Portland Street, Eugene, OR 97405, United States

This comfortable room is full of light, even in our Eugene winters. Just three blocks south of great local shopping and restaurants and convenient to the University and downtown Eugene. One block from a bus stop that goes to downtown and UO.

The Space

This cute two bedroom, one bath house is all about location and the east-facing view of the valley. And the new kitchen that I am still putting a few finishing touches on! Lots of light, an open feel, and quiet. Now with a queen size bed.

I can provide organic Cafe Mam coffee (french press or stove top espresso) or tea, if you are interested, before you head out to explore.

Guest Access

Guests are welcome to use the kitchen and wireless internet.

Interaction with Guests

This is a shared space, and I work from home, which means I'm available when needed, but that I also need people to be quiet and respectful of that arrangement. If you are here during the week, I would prefer that you not hang out at the house much, since I will be working. I will be around to answer questions and provide recommendations on places to visit while in Eugene, ranging from thoughts on our great hiking trails, to the multitude of restaurants, bars, music venues, etc. we have to enjoy.

The Neighborhood

My house is perched on a hill near the end of a quiet dead-end street. One set of stairs leads up to the house, and there are a few more onto the small front porch. A local grocery store (Market of Choice) is a short three block walk down the hill, along with many local restaurants and a hip new bar with darts, pool, and other games.

Getting around

The LTD routes pick up one block from my house and go to downtown (24) and UO (73).

Other Things to Note

Two felines also share our space, though they will not go into your room (unless you want them to). They're full of personality, and they often do want to say hello if you are in their space.

I do consider accepting well-behaved dogs, but do request an extra fee per night.

I wake up early, but that doesn't mean that you have to, since I'm naturally quiet in the mornings.

I try to live simply and with as small of an environmental impact as possible, eating locally and biking or walking around town more often than driving.

  • I had such a lovely experience staying at Sarah's cozy home. Sarah was extremely accommodating, provided great information about the house and surrounding area. We had a nice little Sunday morning conversation prior to me continuing on to my next adventure. Thank you so much!

  • This was my first experience with airbnb, so I was a bit unsure of what to expect. Sarah was a great host, friendly and kind, and also responded quickly and thouroughly. She accommodated me within short notice and also with an exception to her usual policy. Her home was comfortable, clean and simple which made me feel relaxed and at ease while there. The room I stayed in was clean and ready when I arrived. It is small, but well appointed and uncluttered so felt bigger, plus the big window with a nice view added to the ambiance. I slept with the window open, as was soothed to sleep with frog song and crickets in the distance and very little traffic or other typical city noise. I felt very safe as well. Thanks Sarah!

  • Sarah is a very gracious host, the accommodations were exactly as described, and my having to cut my trip short a day due to work issues posed no problem. All in all a great airbnb experience that i would recommend highly.

  • I loved Sarah's cozy little house and her two big friendly felines. Sarah is doing interesting work and it was great fun to chat with her. I would love to stay there again, particularly because her home is three blocks from where my dad is living.

I love hiking, rafting, swimming in lakes/rivers, gardening, and a myriad of other outdoor pursuits. Grew up in the midwest, but am an Oregon adoptee, and have put down roots here in Eugene. I try to live simply and with as small of an environmental impact as possible, eating locally and biking around town more than driving. I work from home for a small environmental nonprofit that is based elsewhere in the west, and we advocate for protection and restoration of our public lands and the species that live on them. I love what I do, and am lucky to be doing it here in Eugene!
