This comfortable room is full of light, even in our Eugene winters. Just three blocks south of great local shopping and restaurants; safe, with convenient vehicle access to University and downtown. Only two blocks from a bus line to downtown and UO.
This cute two bedroom, one bath house is all about its convenient location on a quiet dead-end street, and the east-facing view of the valley. A very comfortable queen-size bed has now replaced the full-size bed. Small but clean bathroom is shared with female homeowner. Lots of light, an open feel, and quiet.
I provide organic Cafe Mam coffee (french press or stove top espresso) or tea, if you are interested, before you head out to explore.
Guests are welcome to use the kitchen and wireless internet during their stay.
Interaction with Guests
This is a shared space, and I work from home, which means I'm available when needed, but that I also need people to be quiet and respectful of that arrangement. If you are here during the week, I would prefer that you not hang out at the house much, since I will be working. I will be around to answer questions and provide recommendations on places to visit while in Eugene, ranging from thoughts on our great hiking trails, to the multitude of restaurants, bars, music venues, etc. we have to enjoy.
My house is perched on a hill near the end of a quiet dead-end street. One set of stairs leads up to the house, and there are a few more onto the small front porch. A local grocery store (Market of Choice) is a short three block walk down the hill, along with many local restaurants.
Two LTD bus routes pick up one block from my house and go to downtown (24) and UO (73).
If you reserve my room for the night, please read the directions carefully on your confirmation notice, since sometimes mapping software is incorrect.
Other Things to Note
A feline shares our space, though she does not go into your room.
I consider accepting well-behaved dogs, but request an extra fee per night and that the dogs not be allowed on any of the furniture, including the bed.
As a convenience for last minute travelers, I'm happy to take last minute reservations. However, per Airbnb policy, any cancellations that occur within 5 days of check-in are not eligible for a refund. If you had planned to stay multiple days and cancel less than five days in advance, the first night is non-refundable and the remaining nights will be refunded at 50%. Please review the Airbnb policy for more details.
I try to live simply and with as small of an environmental impact as possible, eating locally and biking or walking around town more often than driving. I do not use scented laundry detergent or toxic cleaners, so if you have chemical sensitivities my house will be a good fit.
This is a non-smoking house, and I ask that you not smoke on the property, either.
Guests are welcome to request a later checkout on their departure day, but must do so in advance of their stay. I will make every effort to accommodate that request. However, guests should be aware that it may not always be possible for me to do so.
Sarah is a fantastic host. She was very welcoming and gave me plenty of privacy. I would definitely book here again!
I'm very happy with my experience staying in the space Sarah provided. The home is beautiful and the room provided everything I needed for a restful night. Sarah is kind, communicative, and professional.
Sarah was so welcoming! She has such a great quiet and comfy home. She was so kind, friendly and accommodating. We had a great stay with a comfy bed, quiet room, nice fluffy towels and tasty coffee made for us. I would definitely stay again!
I enjoyed very much staying at Light-Filled with a Beautiful house. Sarah was pretty nice and friendly. I was running a bit late and she was very patient with me since I did get confused with the address.
Over all, my stayed was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable and everything was pretty clean.
We were so happy to stay with Sarah and her kitties! (BTW her house is much lovelier in person than photos here would lead you to believe. ) The hospitality was warm but not intrusive, bed comfy, house tidy, and morning sun view over South Eugene excellent. Easy stroll to bakery, grocery, other good eats. Thank you, Sarah!
Sarah is an excellent host! Her beautiful home is welcoming and I was kept company by her two sweet kitties! She and I kept our separate spaces, but talked easily over coffee. She has the perfect personality and perfect space for a visit to Eugene.
Thank you so much Sarah!
Sarah is a great host. She accepted my last minute request and was super helpful for my check in (my late arrival, parking, etc). The room is cozy and the bed is very comfortable. I slept really well. The neighborhood is nice and extremely close to shopping and dinning. Thanks for hosting me, Sarah!
I love hiking, rafting, swimming in lakes/rivers, gardening, and a myriad of other outdoor pursuits. Grew up in the midwest, but am an Oregon adoptee, and have put down roots here in Eugene. I try to live simply and with as small of an environmental impact as possible, eating locally and biking around town more than driving. I work from home for a small environmental nonprofit that is based elsewhere in the west, and we advocate for protection and restoration of our public lands and the species that live on them. I love what I do, and am lucky to be doing it here in Eugene!
