Interaction with Guests
Listing is a private room in a townhouse shared with myself and doxie puppy Winnie Cooper. We interact as much or as little as our guests require. We like to show off AusTex and provide tours on request, take our guests to the Flying Saucer for a brew or two, and provide lifts to/from 6th Street or events so parking, imbibing and driving is not an issue. We like our guests to have fun and enjoy their stay in AusTex!
Quiet townhouse community with no through traffic.
Capitol Metro bus stop 0.6 miles away.
Our host went out of his way to help us find the location due to my GPS not working right. The welcome went beyond that when we arrived.
The location is good for Austin and we were able to drive near the campus and various restaurants easily.
If you stay here, you should be ok with a dachshund (Winnie Cooper) in the home.
We didn't see the upstairs rooms so can't say anything about them. We we in the Master Bedroom downstairs. The bed was comfortable.
We'd return again--very friendly host, Winnie (the dog) is cute as can be, coffee was made for us, and all is good here.
Whitney and her human were very accommodating, even with a last-minute situation. Directions and parking or easy and I was made to feel welcome right away. Thanks and woof to Winnie!
Dave and Winnie were fantastic hosts! We were running super late, and they were still up to meet us. Dave was interesting in his work and a fantastic host. Winnie was super friendly and greeted our dog warmingly. Regarding the room and place in general, it was clean and pretty cool! In no rush, we left the next morning and headed on our way. If we're in the Austin area again and traveling with our dog, we'll definitely stop by again!
This was a great stay and became even better thanks to Dave's above and beyond hospitality. He really went out of the way and made things easier for me, going so far as to offer me freshly cooked dinner, brewing coffee for me etc.... True Texas hospitality with a great attitude. Pleasant conversation and all the amenities/cleanliness you'll need. If you prefer to keep to yourself, you totally can, but if you use Airbnb in hopes of quality interaction with hosts and a true guest experience where someone takes pride in being a good host and getting to know you a bit, this is a great option.
Winnie cooper and Dave were lovely hosts. We were only staying overnight so it was nice that they accepted us so last minute. The location wasn't too far away from Austin downtown and it was only 10 min away from one of our trip destinations. We were supplied a map and some recommended destinations, he also made us tea and coffee in the morning. We were out most of the day, so we were given space to go in and out. Winnie cooper was a sweetheart too, giving me lots of licks for holding her. :) thanks again!
Linda & Bobby
I stayed 8 days with Dave and Winnie and brought along my girlfriend and 2 Maltese dogs for the ride. They were both extremely welcoming and friendly, and Nico and Nisha friends to play with during our stay. Winnie is super cute and loves to have her belly rubbed and Dave is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and takes a vested interest in his guests. While we were there he even DVR'd the Packer game in case we wanted to watch it again later! He gave us many suggestions about attractions and restaurants in the area and had guidebooks and maps so you are never without something to do in Austin. For our last few days staying with him he had 3 more guests stay in the upstairs rooms, so it has a community feel to it and you never know who you are going to meet. Would definitely stay with Dave again if we pass through Austin and would recommend this place to anyone traveling with dogs or just looking for some friendly conversation or a comfortable bed with its own bathroom.
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
