Our clean and comfortable 24' Columbia sleep aboard offers the experience of sleeping on a boat but offers land amenities such as shower and restroom facilities, barbecue grills, picnic tables, etc.
Have you ever slept floating? You can enjoy this experience on our 1964 Columbia 24" sailboat. Recently renovated on the inside, The Cosmos provides the perfect accommodations for one or two young people (perfect "crash pad" for the 20- and 30-somethings!). The boat has only two rooms: a sleeping berth (with a double-sized bed), and a sitting area. Lots of storage and counter space, but no cooking facilities or running water. Economical, air-conditioned and electrically equipped, the boat is clean and comfortable. Restroom and shower facilities are provided elsewhere on the property, as well as access to refrigerator, barbecue grills and picnic tables. Towels, coffee maker, and wifi are provided on the boat. Kayaks, snorkeling gear and bicycles available at no extra cost. A very cool "boat-camping" experience. Maximum occupancy: 2 (boat used for room only - not sailing)
Please feel free to check other units under our profile, and thanks for considering Best of Both Worlds!
Complimentary kayaks, snorkeling gear and bicycles. Common area refrigerator, barbecue grills, picnic tables, restroom, shower, laundry facilities.
As little or as much as they would like!
We are a little slice of old-style Florida Keys tucked in between cookie-cutter, impersonal hotel rooms. The property abounds in coconut and papaya palms, as well as an abundance of wildlife.
Free parking provided.
Welcome to a small paradise! It was our first experience staying on the boat and we really liked it. The space is limited, but it is really cozy and we had everything we needed. All the facilities are provided: kayaks, snorkels, hammocks, grill and hundreds of coconuts ;). The only problem was that we stayed only 2 nights! Kevin and Dana are very friendly, fantastic hosts, who made sure that our stay was perfect. Thank you!
My friend and I stayed on the boat for five nights and it was paradise. Kevin and Dana were great hosts very accommodating and a lot of fun to hang with. They told us great spots to visit and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Kevin even took us out on a sunset cruise and by the end of the week we didn't want to leave. The hosts made us feel right at home and the property is so beautiful. We will definitely be back but next time prefer to stay in one of the other rentals. The boat is fun and adventurous but it is like camping. Overall we had a wonderful and relaxing vacation and cant thank Kevin and Dana enough for providing us with this enjoyable experience.
Beautiful piece & peace of paradise. Comfortable & cozy stay right on the water. Wake up in the morning and snorkel or kayak. Have coffee and watch the fish from land. The water is clear enough. Gracious and accommodating hosts. I was even treated to a sunset sail. Cute dog to boot. I loved it!
We spent three nights on Kevin and Dana's boat and this has definitely been a unique experience. Kevin and Dana are wonderful hosts. They welcomed us really cordially. They are always there for a talk and give you good advice for any excursions in the keys.
Sleeping on a boat has been very special, we've never done anything like this before and we have to admit, that we were a little afraid before the stay. But actually the water was calm and we didn't feel the waving water too much. It also has been great to sleep underneath the stars and beneath the water. The ocean view and watching the sunsets in the evening were amazing.
But you should also know that it's like camping: there is e.g. no water on the boat. Nevertheless: a unique experience!
The boat was simple, clean, and totally charming. Similar to camping, as others have said. The property is gorgeous and in an ideal location. Kevin and Dana were incredibly gracious and helpful. I'll certainly be back, and will highly recommend Best of Both Worlds to my friends and family!
Kevin and Dana have a perfect spot in Islamorada to enjoy and relax for some days. The experience there has ben awesome for many reasons. The place is more than beautiful, all is tidy, cozy and well prepared to do anything that anyone want to do. You can swim, snorkel or do kayak easyly, and the place is perfect to do any of those activities. There are beautiful chairs, tables and hamacs to spend some time and have nice dinners or breakfasts. The boat where we were sleeping was really comfortable and clean.
In addition, Kevin and Dana were incredible hosts; they provided us with anything we could need or ask for, and we can have really interesting talks with them. Kevin even took us sailing for the sunset! We could cook and ask Kevin and Dana for interesting places to visit in Islamorada. We spent three fantastic days, and I would recommend to anyone to go there at any time.
We had a great stay in the boat! Kevin and Dana are wonderful, friendly, accommodating hosts. When we arrived it was rainy and windy so Kevin made sure we were going to be comfortable in the boat - but there was nothing to worry about, it was totally fine in there! In fact, when we woke the next morning and waves had stopped I was almost disappointed because the slight rocking of the boat was enjoyable and made me sleep like a rock! Subsequent clear and calm nights were AMAZING as you can see the stars as you fall asleep.
The property is great - we swam, snorkeled, and kayaked from right there. We enjoyed chatting with some of the other guests, but everyone has their own "area" so you can keep to yourself if you want. Kevin and Dana were always willing to share information, tips and recommendations about what to do / where to go. Very fun, low key, relaxing place to spend your time.
Our stay at the boat was really nice and peaceful. Kevin and Dana are very nice and friendly people who will help you out when you ask or need something. They also were very quick with their replies, which I really appreciated.
Thanks for our nice stay in Islamorada!
Oh and the pasta with chicken was very nice at Lazy Days. :)
The weekend was amazing. It is really cool experience to stay on that boat and owners are really nice and help with everything. What I liked in that place that Kevin and Dana tried to do everything as cozy as they can, so you feel very comfy. Thanks for having us, will come back for sure!
We were upgraded to one of the cabins before we arrived because of the weather - and were pretty glad we had been because the boat might have got a bit steamy!
The room was absolutely fantastic and the position by the sea amazing - still cannot get over the views over the completly flat, still sea.
If you stay here (which I can't recommed enough!) I recommend taking a kayak out for a paddle (but not the yellow one - it is very leaky!), going to the local fish market to stock up on incredible fresh fish for the bbqs provided, and snorkelling around the wall on the left - next to the resort. I did, and met two huge sea turtles who came up really close to me, were very curious and calm about me being there. One of the most amazing experiences I've ever had!
Thanks for having us! Can't wait to come back
