Interaction with Guests
As little or as much as they would like!
We are a little slice of old-style Florida Keys tucked in between cookie-cutter, impersonal hotel rooms. The property abounds in coconut and papaya palms, as well as an abundance of wildlife.
Free parking provided - public transportation very limited.
Take your shoes off, relax and enjoy our magnificent sunsets
Staying in the Cosmos was a pleasant experience. For someone who does s late of summer camping this was a nice treat. Having a.c. And a comfy bed to sleep in along with the kayaking and snorkeling gear not to mention the awesome location and two kind and helpful hosts made my trip to the Keys well worth the drive. Thanks Dana and Kevin!
My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience staying on the sailboat! Everything we hoped for and more. The sailboat was very clean and plenty of room for comfy sleeping and we loved that we could open the hatch over the bed and look at the stars. Kevin and Dana were very friendly and easy to communicate with. They gave us suggestions on things to do and where to eat around town and Kevin even took us out on the sailboat at sunset. Awesome property and you can snorkel right off the steps and see plenty of marine life. We had a blast and can't wait to come back with my dog soon! Thank you Kevin and Dana!
If you are looking for a true Florida keys experience, you've come to the right place! I can not say enough about the beautiful property. We enjoyed kayaking, snorkeling, and biking. Kevin was even nice enough to take us on an evening sail! We loved sleeping on the boat, but we really only used the space for sleeping since there was so much else to do. If you like camping, then you will love this! Kevin and Dana were very welcoming and accommodating. They provided us with everything we needed to have an incredible time in Islamorada. We especially loved visits from their adorable dog Buddy! We will definitely be back!
My boyfriend and I traveled to Islamorada for a family wedding and decided to forgo the typical resort for a real "keys" experience. We made the right choice! Kevin and Dana (and Buddy) were so accommodating and thoughtful. I felt like they were our friends by the end. The sailboat we stayed on was perfect for the two of use. It stayed nice and cool with an air conditioner, although with all the fun stuff to do there we really only were in there to sleep. It got us so excited about sailing that we came home and signed up for sailing classes. We had such a memorable experience and it wouldn't have been the same if we stayed anywhere else. We even learned how to blow the happy hour conch shell.
Kevin and Dana are welcoming hosts, and we loved staying on the boat! It was so cool to be able to snorkel right off the shore and see lots of fish. The sunset was beautiful, as were the stars. It was a rejuvenating place to stay.
We stayed for two nights on the sailboat and were very happy with our experience. It is situated in a slip on a well tended private lot that includes the other two rental units. The bathroom/ shower situation (a shared laundry room space) was a bit spartan, but was nothing less than we had expected based upon previous reviews. The boat itself was comfortable and clean, if not a bit tight (and aged), but there was room for bags, cooler, changing, eating, etc... And, yes, the AC unit was a distinct pleasure (and necessity) considering the June heat. Those seeking luxury might consider a different route, but for us, it was just what we were looking for. Kevin and Dana were available, helpful, and cordial. A sunset boating excursion was offered, as well as parrot fish feeding, iguana communing, knowledge of local goings-on and restaurants, bocce, and all of the above free rentals were at our disposal. Definitely a great, comfortable, affordable choice.
We had considered camping (for what... $65 a night?) but finding this place not only satisfied those notions, but our tendencies for a few creature - comforts as well.
