The Kandyan Manor known as The Rambukwella Walauwa, was built over 180 years ago, leaving it's guests intrigued by it's history. The Manor has recently been renovated in order to accommodate and satisfy it's guests with the amenities provided. The property has 3 rooms and 2 chalets.

About the Green Room - The Green Room is a very airy and soothing room which can comfortably accommodate 3 people. With it's windows, opening out to the lush green garden which consists of shrubs and various trees. The lovely atmosphere of the room, ensures it's guests, not only a comfortable stay but an excellent nights sleep as well with the help of the cooling whether of the hills.
Location - Seductively embraced by the calming whispers of the silent earth in the land of the majestic elephant, surrounded by a lush green shrub jungle in the hills of a paradise island hides, The Kandyan Manor. Being built on a hill in Yatiwala, Katugasthota, The Manor provides it's guests with a peace of mind enabling them to enjoy nothing but the chirps of various kinds of indigenous birds.
Meals - Breakfast is included in all rates and will be fresh juices/fruits and either eggs with toast. Upon request, a truly, homey Sri Lankan meal can be arranged.
Upon request lunch can be served at a rate of 10 USD and dinner at a rate of 12 USD.

Cleanliness and linen - We provide our guests with fresh linen and towels. The room and bathroom will be cleaned everyday. For long term guests, fresh linen and towels will be provided every 3 days too.
Laundry - This service can be provided for our guests at a nominal charge.

Show cooking of a complete Sri Lanka meal on firewood (upon request).
2 km guided nature walk (city tours and day tours).
We have mentioned the amount of guests that each room can occupy, comfortably. Should you want us to accommodate an extra guest 15 USD will be charged.
Children under 6 years will be free of charge.
Children under between 7 - 10 years will be charged half rate on meals only.
THE VILLAGE WALK- AM A village walk in the vicinity to observe the re-awakening of village life. Also visit the Ambalama, a place where people broke journey and took a rest and spent a night in ancient days; folks also exchanged goods or sale items after befriending each other. Walk through the green paddy fields, see the buffalo ploughing the field or threshing the harvest. Along the way see many different spices grown in the wild, such as: Goraka, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Coffee, Cocoa & Black pepper, and also the big green bamboo and many fruit & valuable timber trees standing proudly in the shrub jungle. An ideal walk for the naturalist, the artist and the bird watcher.
Plenty of "Tuk Tuk's" for short city tours, the Manor Jeep for site seeing out of Kandy.
No smoking in the rooms please
No other overnight guests without prior arrangement than those on original booking
Please make sure all windows and doors are closed and locked securely when you leave.
Please try to keep noise to a minimum when returning late at night.
About the Host, Bhathiya
Born and raised in an aristocratic Kandyan Family, I, Bhathi, my wife Suzy and three children, Nigel, Damien and Ishika, are now managing The Kandyan Manor located in the hills in the Central region of Sri Lanka.
Having lived overseas, in Mauritius for 7 years, after our return to our beautiful paradise island, we decided to covert our property in to a Home Stay unit and named it Kandyan Manor in February 2011.
We are a friendly family with warm hearts, extending our personalized services to our guests, to give them the best relaxed holiday.
