Single room in the centre of Rome

Apartment - Private room · Via Bixio, Rome, Lazio 00185, Italy

The Space

Rent a room in Rome at Via Bixio, in an apartment near a stone's throw from Termini station and just minutes from two metro stations of line A (VITTORIO EMANUELE - MANZONI), as well as numerous bus stops and then from there, can move around freely and easily!

My house is also easily accessible from the airports of Fiumicino and Ciampino airports, it is well connected with shuttles arriving at Termini Station.
Set between the basilicas of Santa Maria Maggiore, San Giovanni in Laterano and Santa Croce in Gerusalemme, and just ten minutes walk from the Colosseum.

Very close to my house there are two interesting monuments dating back to Ancient Rome: The Temple of Minerva Medica (fourth century AD) and the monumental Porta Maggiore, one of the gates in the Aurelian Walls (first century AD), but many other attractions are located in close, because we are part of the neighborhood "Esquilino" one of the oldest in Rome.

The district also offers a multitude of eateries, bars, cafes, pizzerias and restaurants to suit all budgets and tastes, many restaurants offering cuisines from other countries, is one of the most multi-ethnic city.

Nearby, there is also a supermarket, several small grocery stores (open late) and the famous covered market in Piazza Vittorio, one of the largest and most characteristic of Rome.

The building, old and in excellent condition, is located near the famous, multi-ethnic, colorful and lively Piazza Vittorio, 20 meters from the Metro Vittorio, and one stop from Termini Station, and therefore easily accessible from the airports.
Set between the basilicas of Santa Maria Maggiore, San Giovanni in Laterano and Santa Croce in Gerusalemme, and just ten minutes walk from the Colosseum.

The single room is not very large, but has a private terrace area with plants and consists of an additional room that can be taken out of use as a studio, workshop, etc..
I live in the house even I, who have a separate room: there is a kitchen equipped with all appliances, a comfortable bathroom with tub and shower and another very large terrace. And 'this ADSL line, Fastweb, with unlimited calls to landlines in the Italian national territory, heating, weekly cleaning with a steady girlfriend.

How to reach my house:

1. From Fiumicino airport:
You can take a train from Fiumicino airport to Termini station, in central Rome. It takes about 30 minutes and costs € 14.00 each way.
Alternatively, you can take a bus to Termini station. It takes about 55 minutes and costs 4.00 € one way.
If you prefer to take a taxi, there is a fixed fee of € 48.00 from Fiumicino airport in Rome center.

From Ciampino Airport:
You can take a bus to Termini station. It takes about 40 minutes and costs € 4.00 one way.
If you prefer to take a taxi, there is a fixed fee of € 30,00 from Ciampino to Rome center.

From Termini Station:
- A foot (10 minutes)
- Bus 105 (3 stops, get off at PRINCIPE EUGENIO / MANZONI)
- Tram 5 or 14 (3 stops, get off at PRINCIPE EUGENIO / MANZONI).

The building is very nice and great location. Included, if you wish, a rich and varied breakfast.

Welcome to Rome!

  • This is a very nice space that is conveniently located very close to the Termini in Rome. Alice is very friendly and the building is superb. Very nice outside space as well. I had to leave a day early due to a change in travel plans but I can highly recommend this location and room!

Thanks Gary! See you in Rome again! Greetings, Alice.

  • Alice's place was very close to all the sites in Rome. There's underground parking right below her apartment building. The parking fees are not too expensive compared to other parking areas around the city. Although I was 5 hours late, Alice still waited for me.
If you want to visit Rome and you want to stay a comfortable and inexpensive place, this is the way to go.

thank you Alice for your hospitality :-)

  • Alice was a fantastic host over the Christmas holiday. I actually spent most of my stay alone in her place, but she left it stocked with snacks for breakfast which was absolutely perfect. Very homey, comfortable space. I spent 4 nights in Rome and had a lovely stay. The room is perfect for anyone traveling alone. The location is right near the grocery store and a short walking distance from all the typical sites. I felt like I was more than a guest in someone else's city. It felt like it was my city for the duration of my stay. Very good experience!!

  • Alice was a wonderful host. The room was just what I needed for a solo trip to see as much as I needed of Rome in just two short days. The apartment is really only a 7 or 8 minute wall from Termini, which is very convenient if you are traveling by train to other cities in Italy or even if you are arriving/leaving Rome by plane since there are many options of transportation available that connect Termini to the airport. Also, I didn't even mind walking from Alice's apartment to the major sites on the city - it is maybe a 2 mile walk but you are constantly seeing beautiful sights all along the way so it goes by fast. Alive made me feel very welcome traveling alone (this was my first experience traveling alone in Europe) and had a nice little b real fast with coffee or tea prepared every morning. Additionally, there is a fantastic pizza place across the street from her apartment that I highly recommend. If I ever come to Rome again, I most definitely would stay in Alice's apartment once more!

  • It was a nice stay and close to the termini but not very close to all the central attractions of Rome. It's only a Metro Ride away to get to central areas, but its still a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest metro. The apartment itself was nice but the building is situated in more of a run down area of Rome. Its also at least a 15-20 minute walk to the Termini. There is no elevator, so if you have a lot of heavy luggage its not too easy. The room is pretty small, as is the bed. The covers and sheets could have been a little more comfortable and softer, and would have been nice to have one more pillow. Having said that, there was a nice balcony connected to the room. The Shower was my main problem, there was a bath and shower hose, but you could not attach the shower head to a rail head. Coffee, tea and biscuits etc were provided for breakfast. Alice was very nice, but she could not provide me with a Street Map of Rome or the area, which is really what I would have like on first arriving.

  • Alice is a very responsible host and has always responded to my queries promptly. She is also very helpful and warm and has helped me greatly during my stay at her place. Her apartment is cozy, well furnished and conveniently located from the main railway station as well as the nearby subway station. There is a small courtyard outside the bedroom that you can rest and chill after walking for the longest time visiting places in Rome, which i have totally enjoyed during my short stay there. Although it is not far from the train station and main street, her apartment is quiet and i have no problem sleeping well at night. As it is located in one of the oldest neighbourhood, you can be sure that it is one of the most authentic experience about living in Rome if that is what one is hoping for.
There is also a very good gelato shop located nearby as well that sells one of the best gelato in Rome that i seriously recommend. Overall, it is a great experience and i will recommend it to lone travelers seeking to find a safe and convenient lodging in Rome, although being near the main station means one has to be alert at all times.

Thanks Jerry! It was a real pleasure to have a guest in my house, you are a very kind and helpful. You'll look again in Rome. A hug!

  • Alice was kind of in a rush the day I got to Rome, but she was kind enough of waiting for me for giving me the keys, despite some miscalculations from the bus driver! Despite she was late the neight before, she took the consideration of waking up early for leaving my breakfast on the table. The flat is located in a very diverse area, kind of busy, but in the inside, is precisely what you need for having a good night sleep. Flat is also very clean. The most important highlight: cookies/biscuits in Alice's cupboard! Absolutely delicious.

About
