The Manor Suite is about 1200 square feet, with a large private balcony overlooking the southern meadow. With its vaulted cathedral ceiling, living room, dining area, full kitchen, private outdoor balcony with patio furniture, and hand carved four-post canopy bed, the Manor Suite is a vision of opulence and luxury. The attached 17 x 22 foot private bathing suite is breathtaking, complete with water closet which has a bidet and toilet.

The space
The graceful yet comfortable chairs, couch, and the hand-carved armoire, dressing tables and bureaus from a castle in Tuscany envelope you in romance and sumptuousness. The tiled floors in the bathing suite are covered in antique oriental hand-woven carpets and rugs in front of the Jacuzzi as well as at the base of the two-person, 10 spray shower (which has benches and beautiful custom tile work). A Duncan Phyfe couch, covered in brocade is provided for lounging and is across the room from the sinks that have been encased in an antique bureau.

Guest access
Although the rooms are luxurious and spacious, the Inn has vast amount of common areas including a library nook, entertainment room, sitting parlors, large dining hall, outdoor gardens, a vineyard and wooded hiking trails. The road, Mountain Road, is a favorite cycling route. It was previously one of the legs of the Tour DuPont and one of the recommended routes of the Potomac Peddlers Club.

Other things to note

Your hosts, Spencer and Beth, prepare a gourmet six-course breakfast each morning customized to any specific dietary requirements. The soaps for your suite are hand-crafted prior to your arrival with a choice of essential oils. Large common areas are provided including a library nook, sitting parlor, entertainment room, wine-tasting room, outdoor gardens, etc.

The area is known as DC's Wine Country. It has more than 50 wineries, over a dozen micro-breweries, cideries and distilleries. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy cycling, kayaking, canoeing, tubing, hiking and zip-lining. The Appalachian Trail, C&O Towpath and W&OD trails are nearby.
