Interaction with Guests
I am friendly but busy - am glad to give you tips on where to find things in Durham/Chapel Hill/Raleigh.
The neighborhood is close to Duke, UNC and I40. This is a suburban locale, with easy access to shopping and restaurants.
Other Things to Note
There is a small, nice dog who lives here. He loves people and sleeps a lot.
Kendall is a fantastic host. Friendly, helpful, communicated everything very well up front, and made sure I had everything I needed or knew where to find it. I felt at home. The private bedroom and bathroom on the 2nd floor is great with lots of room, comfy bed, and a view out the window of the nice residential neighborhood, which is good for running through and is hilly for a bit of a challenge. Biggie is cute, entertaining, and very quiet. Quick and pleasant 10-ish minute commute to downtown Durham. Would return in a heartbeat and actually I've done just that. :)
I had a great experience staying at Kendall's. She was very friendly, and the privacy of staying on the upper level of the house was lovely. Thank you Kendall!
Kendall was really nice and welcoming! Very hospitable.
Place looks nicer than the pictures! There's really everything in her place that will make your stay very convenient.
Durham isn't too accessible by public transport so you'll definitely need a car. but there's a walmart, and some food places 20 minutes away from her place.
Listing was accurate, just as described and shown. Kendall was a great host and very accommodating. Neighborhood is quiet and conveniently located near grocery stores and about 15-20 minutes from RDU and Duke. Would definitely stay here again should I need to visit the area.
Kendall was great! Really clear communication and upon arriving she showed me the place, offered me a beer, and we spent a bit of time talking. The room was really comfortable and had a private bathroom. It was also upstairs separate from the rest of the house which was nice for privacy as well. My stay was great as was Kendell!
Kendall is the consummate host for airbnb. In my case, I preferred a quiet space where I could do my own thing, and the host could do theirs. This is precisely what Kendall provided. Even her little pooch (Biggie - a chihuahua), was playful yet respectful of privacy.
I had a month-to-month long-term stay at Kendall's, and since I travel a lot, the situation ended up being perfect (not far from RDU). I drive quite a bit for my local territory, and the location was far enough away from all highways (so, no traffic noise), yet close enough to be on I-40 in a few minutes. To that end, I had a space reserved in her driveway for my car (which her friends, neighbors and other guests would respect).
In terms of getting good rest at night, the bed in the upstairs spare room is extraordinarily comfortable, and Kendall was always conscious of the area getting ample airflow/cooling during the hot summer months. The extra (private, separate) bathroom, as well as the laundry, are conveniently located just down the hall.
In general, the price Kendall charges is really quite fair. Based on that and what is written above, I would recommend people consider this listing when passing through or transitioning the Durham area.
About the Host, Kendall
I'm a 9-5'er in healthcare research. I tend to be out and about a bit on the weekends, but am fairly tame at age 42 and am early to bed during the week other than an evening walk or going out to dinner. :) It's a pretty quiet scene at my place - I do have a small, friendly dog who sleeps most of the time.
My place is 3 bedrooms but fairly small - good location not far from I-40, Southpoint Mall, Duke and UNC.
