Description

The Space

Comfortable, home from home. Spacious twin bed room. Great location. Single room also available if you are 3 people travelling.
Guests may access all areas of the house. Sitting room and kitchen and garden. The kitchen is free for use for breakfast in the mornings and for occasional use later. I would ask guests to be mindful of using the kitchen/dining room in the evening as this is a space I use for meeting/entertaining family and friends. It is my home so we have to accommodate each other. This has never been a problem so far. The sitting room is a separate space with tv etc so there is always somewhere for people to relax. I am often away for a night or two so you may have the space to yourself also.

As much interaction as desired with host. Lots of local knowledge so feel free to ask any questions about travel or local amenities, what to do, what's best to do on a particular day depending on the weather etc.

From the front gate turn right for a ten minute walk to town (no exaggeration) or turn left to access the National Park. Muckross House 4km, Torc waterfall 6km.
Muckross Road is the gateway to the National Park.

There are 2 local buses - the shuttle bus which has a 3 day pass for €15 and visits all the local attractions and the Hop On/Hop Off bus which does similar. I'm walking distance from the bus/train station and will usually be free to pick you up if you text ahead. If you are walking the bus/train station is 15 min walk. Trips for the Ring of Kerry/Dingle,Slea Head/Gap of Dunloe trip can arranged easily. I can book in advance for you if you wish and you will be picked up at the door. Lots of bikes for rent locally too.

Private parking round the back of the house. I am house number 8. access road for parking at the rear is between house 4 and 5.
Free in house wifi.

I am a local Killarney woman but I have lived in different parts of Ireland and the world during my teaching career. I love the National Park and all the fabulous walks here. The town has everything you could possibly need and there is simply nowhere more beautiful to live. You can stroll to town to dine out or shop around or relax and browse the internet after a day out and about. If the weather is right the best thing to do is to get out in the boat on the lake to explore hidden Killarney. You will be most welcome here. Make yourself at home for your stay. I like to make the most of life's opportunities.
