The space

This beautiful chalet style home is a short twenty (20) minutes and change from Camelback/Jack Frost/Big Boulder Ski Slopes and has 3 bedrooms, 1 den, 1 and a half baths in a gated community high in the Pocono Mountains. (Please note prices for the home differ depending on the time of year due to heating, holidays and sometimes days of the week, kindly consult the calendar.)

The upper level is a peaceful space sharing the den, master bedroom, a half bath and a sliding door that leads to a small deck area. There is a desk and sitting area in the den/study room. We have an airbed for the den area which plugs into an outlet to inflate and deflate easily. The air mattress is stored in the closet on the upper level. The master bedroom has a queen size bed that is low to the floor, along with a chair and sofa for comfortable conversations.

The main living level is an open space to the kitchen and living room areas with two sliding doors that open to a larger deck, two bedrooms (one full size bed and the other with two twin beds) and a full bathroom. The living room has a queen size sofa-bed.

The larger deck has a dual (gas/charcoal) grill all year round for grilling pleasures and during the Spring, Summer and Fall, a table and chairs for a grand outdoors eating experience, and the greatest hammock ever for a lazy afternoon nap!

This private community with 24 hour security, has 2 swimming pools, tennis courts, basketball courts and 5 lakes (stocked yearly with fish) for fishing, canoeing and kayaks (no motorized boats permitted). Two of the lakes with sandy beach areas are roped off for swimming and have picnic tables and playground for the children. The roads have very little traffic so bicycles, scooters, rollerblading and skateboards are a bit safer to use. Guests have full access to all the community's amenities.

Small pets allowed.

Everything was well in order for our group. The house was clean and easy to find. We wish we could have spent more time there but were in town to work an event. We as a group also rented another home, "Cozy Lake Naomi Family Retreat" and otherwise had an unfortunate time with the host. Tania was always easy to get a hold of before and during the visit.

Tania was a wonderful host - quick to respond to any questions or concerns that came up before or during our weekend - and her home suited our needs perfectly. I would second others' feedback regarding the community's security staff being difficult (despite having provided all the requested information for those driving), with the caveat that it very much depended on the individual. There were several guards we had a perfectly pleasant experience with.

Tania the host was very welcoming and great with communicating back and forth. We really enjoyed our stay. We hung out on the patio for most of our stay, loved the hammock, and the deer who also call the surroundings of this home their home. However, there were a few things that were not available to us that I only mention to make future stays of others on airbnb more pleasant. Gas bbq was very low on propane therefore, we had to make a run out to get charcoal (no big deal). Wifi was not working but Tania called the cable company and got it sorted and working. Futon in the den upstairs was broken so Tania has placed an air mattress there in lieu of. This has nothing to do with the house itself but the private community in which the house was situated was very disorganized and the people working there were very rude. On the first day, our family arrived in three different cars at different times. Minus my car, they gave the other two cars a very had time getting into the community saying that our names were not on the list (even though Tania had emailed them prior with all the driver's names- Tania warned me that they would be really strict about it). In the middle of the night when the last car arrived, they wouldn't let them in until I drove to the gate myself and proved that they were staying with me. Also, the public pools (or any public facility) you need a badge to use them. They wouldn't let us go into the pool because we did not have badges. Despite these things we had a great time and I would recommend this house to others.

Tania's house was as described with plenty of room for our bachelor crew. The location is in a guarded neighborhood with lots of privacy and wildlife around. It is a great place to spend a weekend close to the outdoors.

Tania has a very welcoming personality. She made the house feel like it was ours. She is a very cool and sweet lady. I would definitely recommend a friend to stay at her place! There were eight of us and my friends and I had a great time!

I would want for you, as a guest in our home, to enjoy it the way we do. This lovely home has given us, not just wonderful times, but soothed us when we are weary, revitalized when we are exhausted, and provided a shelter that has warmed our hearts. Many friends and family have thoroughly enjoyed their visit to our home and look forward to returning... indeed, I wish the same to you.

Have an excellent and peaceful day!
