Kazuko, Shozo and Nik
It was a great experience to stay in Kazuko's apartment in Roppongi. The apartment is just 5 mins walk from the subway Roppongi Itchome station and you will get to see Tokyo tower once you open your front door! The facilities are just nice for free and easy traveler. There is two Family Mart nearby the apartment. If you wanted to print your boarding pass these will be a good place to go. I stayed here with my colleagues for 3 nights and I will definitely come back again with my girlfriend! Highly recommended!
This place is charming and well kept. Everything was well organized and easy to understand, it was a great value stay not too far from some interesting areas, although you will often find yourself switching subway lines to get to and from the apartment. That being said, we didn't have any trouble and found our way around Tokyo easily. The wifi device was a perfect companion.
Wonderful place, very cozy, and so walkable to the nightlife of Roppongi. Would definitely stay again. Very traditional space, comfy, and pretty spacious, We rented a few apartments at once for a big group of us that were visiting Tokyo.
It can be a little hard to find on first visit, so be sure to print out a (website hidden) map first.
We stayed at this Roppongi mansion at the beginning of December 2013. Overall rating is 4.6 out of 5. Definitely would recommend this place and would stay again.
Location 5 out of 5: This apartment is as good as it gets if you are planning on going out in Roppongi. This place is a 10min walk to the middle of Roppongi and a 8 min walk to the Kamiyacho station on the Hibiya line. If you plan on going out at all in Roppongi, then this is the spot. This will save you a ton of money in cabs.
Room: 4 out of 5: The room is spacious and can easily sleep 4 people comfortably. The limitation is the amount of room you have for luggage. There is limited closet space and there is a table in the kitchen taking up much needed luggage real estate. There isn't really a place to hang up your coats either.(not a problem if you are going in the summer.)
Bathroom 5 out 5: The bathroom was really clean. It is a traditional Japanese bathroom with a bathtub and covered in tile. It is pretty spacious and had plenty of hot water.
Amenities 4 out 5: It was the winter while we were there and there where plenty of heaters in each room to keep you warm. The towels were well stocked. The pocket wifi was a huge plus. Having an extra unit from the one we already rented kept us in touch with each other when we did split up. There is no TV in this apartment though. If you don't understand Japanese and don't plan on staying in the apartment, this will be of little consequence. Unfortunately for us, we understand Japanese and used the hotel to relax.
Communication 5 out of 5: Kazuko and Nick were really good about getting back to us. This was one of the main reasons that we chose to stay here. Their directions are super easy to understand and they were easy to work with.
Overall a very nice place in a very convenient location if using Tokyo Metro (not JR) station. Just a quick 3-5 min walk to Rappongi Itchome station. There was a big hiccup on the day of arrival (room wasn't ready), luckily the building manager was nice enough to let me borrow the phone to call (even though the sign on the window said that she would not help Airbnb customers). Apartment had two bedrooms, nice kitchen/fridge/dining table, enough space to fit 4 people comfortably. Bathroom could definitely use an update though.
Would highly consider staying again!
Staying in this apartment was fantastic, as it was very close to Roppongi and other subway stations. The room was very clean, and more than spacious for 3 people in Tokyo. It was easy to find and gain access, and served as a great, quiet place to get rest between outings to Tokyo and around. Would definitely do this again.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for one week. The view of Tokyo Tower and the location is what we liked best about this apartment in Roppongi. Additionally, it was very helpful to have use of the portable wi-fi. The apartment is small, but considered large for Tokyo (my Japanese friends confirmed this). The hosts were very responsive to all questions we had throughout our stay. Great find!
Perfect stay in every aspect for a good location in a great city. So easy!!!!!
Kazuko was an amazing host. His response time was impeccable and he was very helpful in answering our questions.
The apartment is also great. My party of four stayed there comfortably and the location is great for seeing everything in Tokyo. It's about a two minute walk to the metro and Roppongi is only 10 mins in the opposite direction.
The next time I'm in Tokyo I will certainly return to Kazuko's apartment.
Nice apartment, comfortable bed, very clean on arrival. Enough space (by Japanese standards) for a family with two younger children for a week. Can't imagine being in a hotel room that long. Cooked most breakfasts/dinners to save a ton of money -- kitchen was spare but sufficient. (Supermarket is a bit of a hike, so plan ahead.)
Quiet neighborhood, but just a short walk to the crazy part of Roppongi, if that's your thing.
Great location close to the Roppongi Itchome subway station -- really easy to get most places in Tokyo. Longer but easy walk to other subway lines as well.
Met Kazuko briefly -- friendly and responsive.
