The Bywater is alive with restaurants, shops, artists and musicians, and is close to the French Quarter- about a mile and a half, but far enough away, so you can relax and unwind, especially if you have been enjoying the delights of Bourbon Street and the French Quarter.

The house and neighborhood were well-represented in the property profile. We were greeting promptly and welcomed warmly.
These accommodations FAR outweighed our expectations. When we booked online we thought the pictures were great. But when we got there we were blown away by how awesome this place really is! First of all kudos to Ernie our housekeeper who made us feel more than welcome, gave us an excellent tour of the house and told us all about the surrounding area. He even did our laundry everyday! The neighborhood called Bywater was fantastic, with lots of restaurants and antique shops all just around the corner. Robert our host provided us with WAY more amenities than any hotel you could stay in. Wine, cheese, sausage, snacks, fruit, candy even all the bathroom needs you could possibly want. Robert even stopped by one day ,told us about the history of the house and great local stories. All in all our experience was amazing. We are hoping to come back every year on our Anniversary and re-live this wonderful experience.
We can't speak highly enough of this space! Everything is exactly as pictured, charming, eclectic and a true New Orleans experience. We easily walked everywhere we wanted to go and took a cheap cab ride back from the Quarter late in the evening. We enjoyed the quaintness of the neighborhood and appreciated retreating from the noise of Bourbon Street at the end of the night. Ernie and Robert took great care of us, right down to changing the bedding each day. The bathroom is massive with a fantastic tub and shower. This place is stocked with the information you need to get around, including a hand drawn map of the neighborhood. Snacks and wine await you when you arrive. We'll recommend this rental to all of our friends and would stay again in a heartbeat if we make it back to New Orleans. Quit dragging your feet and book it now!
During a recent week long stay in New Orleans, we found this rental to exceed expectations.. Very comfortable and lovely lodging, easy walk to French Quarter ( we walked every day and into early evenings and felt safe)and just a couple blocks to buses to explore other areas. Jet tub was a welcome treat after long days walking, in house coffee pot, bottled water, juice and snacks were nice touches. Ernie left us lots of maps and brochures and provided daily upkeep to the home without being intrusive at all. While we were out in a surprisingly cold day he even turned on the heaters so we would be warm when we got home. Tip: the larger bed is much softer than the smaller, and the room with the large bed can be kept quite dark for those mornings you want to sleep in. There is a little store deli 5 minutes away with seriously the best roast beef po' boys and mac n cheese found anywhere. (ask ernie for directions) We would definitely choose Robert's rental for our next trip. Thank you for your hospitality!
I can honestly say that we, as seasoned travellers, have never felt so well cared for on holiday as in this beautiful house. The house was immaculate and every single detail was taken care of - from the daily cleaning to snacks/drinks/toiletries topped up whilst we were out to the fact that our personal washing was done every day to a multitude of suggestions as to where to go, where not to go and 'insider tips'.
Ernie the housekeeper was absolutely lovely and could not possibly have done more for us.
The description on air bnb was completely accurate and the neighbourhood was extremely friendly (as was the whole of New Orleans) and we made ample use of the numerous local bars, restaurants and shops.
I cannot recommend this property high enough and fully intend to return as soon as we can.
Our stay at 918 Louisa Drive was fantastic. We were greeted on arrival by Ernie, the gracious housekeeper, who immediately filled us in on all kinds of helpful information about NO and left hand- written notes around with things like the bus schedule and local restaurants. From there on, he was always available if we needed anything, but not at all intrusive. Besides plenty of character, this place has two fantastic beds, a deep bathtub with jets that we used just about every night, a great shower, complimentary red and white wine and bar fridges stocked with drinks and snacks. The neighborhood is quaint and friendly and felt very safe. Our favorite breakfast spot was just two and a half blocks away. Our only complaint was that it was just a bit farther from the French quarter than we would have liked. It's a bit too far to walk and bus service was a bit off because of Mardi Gras and construction, so we ended up cabbing it a bit more than we would have liked. But all in all, this is a great place to stay.
Robert's place was wonderful. He and Ernie go out of their way to make it feel like a home away from home. It has all the amenities and NOLA charm you could ask for. Location was fabulous!
