About this listing
Enjoy a private kitchen, dining area and reading corner in our inviting second-floor space! Near downtown, Uptown, parks and lakes. Many fun restaurants and coffee shops are within walking distance. Easy access to city transit.
This charming updated space used to be part of a full upper duplex. When we got married (several years ago now) we expanded our living space to include part of the upstairs. However, we had this sunny kitchen, bedroom and dining area overlooks the back yard that was perfect for welcoming guests.
The bedroom has a very comfy queen size pillow top bed. A flat screen TV gives you access to Netflix, Hulu Plus and other good viewing. Enjoy the full kitchen and dining area and you can read in the little sitting area by the kitchen. The bathroom has a tub and shower, clean towels and washcloths, amenities, and shelves for your toiletries. The bath is in the hall and is 99% yours as we have a bath in our first floor living space that we use for all our needs except occasionally in middle of the night. (Our bedroom is at the other end of the 2nd floor from the apartment.) The backyard is available for your use as well. Just keep the gates closed so our dog Lucky doesn't get out.
Along with your full private kitchen, you have access to wireless internet, Netflix, Hulu Plus, shared washer/dryer and outdoor space. There is fruit, juice, bagels or English muffins, tea, coffee and a coffee maker for your enjoyment.
Interaction with Guests
We respect your privacy, but will be available to help you in any way needed. We do live in the house, too, but your space is private.
We love the tree lined streets of our neighborhood, the gardens, the cafe's, coffee shops, parks and great neighbors. We're in the heart of the city with all it has to offer, 3 miles to the Minneapolis Convention Center, or we can be in the suburbs (think Mall of America) within 20 minutes or less. There is a YMCA four blocks from the house. We are about a mile from two lakes: Lake Harriet and Lake Calhoun where you can enjoy a picnic, summer concert, or rent a canoe or kayak. .
You can catch a city bus at the end of our block and go anywhere. The bus will also take you to the light rail station, which is about 10 minutes from our house.
