Ideal place for event/expo/seminar/business visitors, job seekers, layovers, backpackers/cyclists/adventurers, musicians and Linux geeks who just need a space to sleep, relax, communicate, and leave their stuff while off on visits.
Flat is located in a most lively area of old Dubai in downtown Deira. Close to the Metro station. Walking distance to the Naif Souq, Gold Souq, Baniyas Squire, Nasser Squire, Electronic Souq, Creek. New Dubai is just 10 to 20 minutes away by taxi., Deira City Center, Airport, Computer Street, Jumeirah 1 Beach, Festival City, World Trade Center, DIFC and more are all close by.
Dozens of restaurants, fast food joints and 24-hour laundries are located within a block or two of the building.
Microwave, automatic washing machine, toaster, rice steamer, kettle, etc., along with fresh towels and bed linens are also provided. An assortment of green and black teas, coffee and drinking water is always available.
I am a web consultant, living in Dubai for the past 8 years. I live and work from my home (in the same building) most of the time. I know the city very well and am happy to suggest local points of interest or help you plan your day trips. Let me know your requirements and I'll do my best.
Q: Is this an actual apartment or part of a villa or an apartment with other rooms?
A: It's not a part of a villa or apartment or a shared room. It's a small independent studio flat in a building where you will have the whole apartment.
Q: What time can I check-in/check-out?
A: Check-in/check-out times are flexible, depending on scheduling (i.e., guests just before/after you). If the flat is vacant prior to your arrival, check-in is possible as early as you like. Otherwise 12:30pm is the standard check-in and 11.30am check-out time.
Q: How friendly is the location and is it safe?
A: Old Dubai and its neighborhoods include the main bazaar area. It's busy and vibrant, and there are all kinds of peoples but very little interaction or bother. You can walk on the street any time, day or night, without trouble. There is virtually no crime, and in terms of atmosphere, the area is bustling but altogether safe even for single travellers and visitors. In short, safety is the last consideration in our daily life in Dubai. It is safe and secure throughout the city.
Saini was a very gracious host. His mother met us at the apartment and showed us how everything worked and how to get to the local supermarket. The flat itself is is great condition, fresh and clean with great wifi ! It is walking distance to the metro (maybe 5 mins) and to supermarkets, atms and fast food places. There is use of the jug, fridge, microwave and toaster. They generously let us use the washing machine as well ! Saini kindly gave us two metro cards to use while we were there. Thank you so much for your hospitality ! I definitely recommend this place ! Would stay again.
Great cozy studio flat with all facilities in the middle of old Dubai. Very we'll explained and directed to flat location by Saini. It had all the facilities you would require microwave, fridge, washer, kettle, trimmer etc
Saini / Yura very accommodative, understanding, always available for you, nice of u to be flexible on check in and check out timings.
I would say absolute value for money to experience the real old Dubai which never changed for more than 3 decades. Highly recommended!!!!!
This was a great place to stay in Dubai—clean, tidy, well-located and reasonably priced. Saini (Yura's friend who is looking after the flat in Yura's absence) was so-o-o helpful. We arrived late at night and he was there to make sure we got in and had everything we needed. We were impressed by the lots of little extras provided, such as shampoo, conditioner, little snacks, maps to borrow, and plenty of useful advice. The flat is small, but more than adequate for one or two people without a lot of luggage. This was our first experience with AirBnB accommodation and we will certainly use it again. And this will be our first choice next time we're in Dubai.
Nice small flat (email hidden)ly older neighborhood of Dubai. The standards are basic and unlike the glitter you might see at other places. This actually is something I prefer over typical touristic places, as you are closer to a real life Dubai experience.
Yura and (during his absence) Saini both were extremely helpful, friendly and hospitable and almost immediately answered any question I had. Unfortunately I did not meet any of them. I hope to catch up another time.
The current photos are partly from another apartment. The flat is simpler as it looks on the photos but offers what you need.
I was on a business trip and needed a place to sleep. For the purpose I found it an excellent location at an interesting spot and for a good price.
Even though Saini (Yura's friend) was not able to greet me, communication and instruction (with images) were accurate and very helpful. Since I was arriving into Dubai late with a 12 hour layover, Saini was able to help me with what restaurants and bars I could visit during my short stay. The room that is being used is about the same size, but smaller then shown and the shower itself is a bit tight with no hot water. The place itself is perfect for a short stay, very clean and was even welcomed with a bottle water on the table. Location is perfect with several food spots around and the Palm Deira station is only a 5 min walk away.
The flat was clean and Saini, Yura's friend was most helpful. Wifi is good.
The location was problematic for me, as I had a car and getting into the neighborhood and parking added 30 to 60 minutes to my commute. I was told parking is available on the street, but not told that one must circle around and around waiting for someone to leave just as one is arriving in order to get a space.
Botique is not a word I would use to describe the flat. The flat provides basic accommodation. The "bed" is hard and quite small. The shower is so small that one stands partially in and partially out to shower with no shower curtain and water on the bathroom floor when finished. The building is poorly maintained with broken floor tiles at the entrance and broken furniture in common hallways.
We had a smooth and pleasant stay, no problems at all. Yura was away, so we dealt with Saini, who was very considerate and communicated with us regarding details of our arrival well in advance. As the ad says, it is a small studio, so it is suitable for one person or two very friendly people who do not get on each other's nerves. The apartment is 7 minute walk from the metro station and 45 minutes from the airport (by metro and on foot). The only negative thing about the apartment was the shower - it is very small and as a consequence it is impossible to keep the floor dry.
