The Itchen Navigation stretches for 15 miles from Southampton to Winchester, it is a walkers heaven at all times of the year, it is possible to walk from our house to Winchester, catch the train home all in one day. If this longer than you fancy then, if you have a car, there are planned circular walks along the length of the walk.

Interaction with Guests
Some guests want to interact a lot, some do not, we cater for both quite happily.
Bitterne Park, as its name suggests, is built around the Riverside Park area of Southampton, this is an attractive city park with the river Itchen running along one edge, it is a haven for wildlife and leads on the Itchen valley Country park to the North. We are a car or bus ride from the city centre or roughly 45 mins walk. It is possible to walk along the Itchen Way to Winchester from our house.
There are Bus stops to the town center nearby, two local Railwaystations and one mainline station not too far away The Airport is also close, a short Taxi ride away.
Other Things to Note
Parking: On street parking is usually available just over the road from our house with more parking normally free just around a near by crossroads.
Please remember that we have our Office in the Chalet and will often be working in the office during working hours. Generally this causes no problems but is worth rembering if you are looking for total privacy.
We need access to the office during the week at usual business hours. Your Bedroom is private but the Chalets lounge area may occaisionly be a shared space during these hours. The Downstairs Bathrooms and the Kitchen are also shared spaces so common sense is applied to ensure everyone is happy. We request that the washing machine and tumble drier are not used after 10:00 pm.
Arrival time is flexible but after 3pm please unless arranged in advance.
I really enjoyed my stay with Rachel and Graham. The chalet is well set up, and the garden setting was lovely (when the weather held out!). They were very friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend :)
As usual, Rachel and Graham were fantastic host, very friendly and welcoming. The accommodation they offer is simple but cosy and welcoming, as per previous reviews.Highly recommended.
Stayed for two nights with my wife. Nice place although I didn't spend much time in the chalet other than to rest up for the next day. Used the fire place to warm up the room on the last night, very cozy.
Good value, I would come back.
Rachel and Graham are lovely people. They made us feel welcome. I had great conversations with Graham. They even invited us for a barbecue on our last evening. They had friends over with whom we all enjoyed a wonderful evening of songs, music and a fire in their cute yard.
Thank you for this precious evening. It will stay among our most cherished souvenirs.
The Chalet was just what I needed - I was in town working, so I was looking for somewhere quiet with a bit of space to myself. Ideal
Rachel and Graham were fantastic hosts.Accommodation was as per description, nice, cozy and clean.Highly recommended!
A different type of experience but most enjoyable (as long as weather good as need to go thru' garden for bathroom).
Rachel and Graham were great hosts and very welcoming. The area seemed difficult to park in at first but we soon worked out places to park near to the house. The walk to the White Swan for dinner was nice and the location was excellent to get to the M27. A very nice stay.
