Frances and Dan were great hosts.
My boyfriend and I were traveling from Tanzania to Rwanda for work and decided to stay one more night in Kigali. I contacted Frances and Dan very last minute for the next day and they answered in the blink of an eye!
They were very straightforward and honest warning us about their dogs, but frankly there was really no need, the puppies were so cute and disciplined i hardly realized there were 4 dogs in the house! The house is big and clean, located in a very safe, residential neighborhood, their housekeeper always helpful and responsive. Dan made us a delicious breakfast and even drove us to the bus station! They were also so kind as to let us leave our bags at their place while we went to Butare.
We had a great time with them, it was really nice chatting about our experiences in Tanzania and Rwanda in front of a nice glass of wine and good chocolate! Next time we'll be in Kigali we'll definitely try their new apartment!
Frances and Dan were gracious and welcoming hosts. Their house had a nice room in a pleasant and safe neighborhood. They were able to help us with good advice on things to see and where too eat. They even did the bargaining with the taxi men, which is essential in Kigali. We also had the services for a day of their man about the house, Gasore, who served a guide and bargainer in the markets.
