As you arrive at John and Pats place, you are more then aware you are entering somewhere special. The location of their stunning house nestled in the trees, overlooking the bay, was the perfect setting for starting our Tasmanian tour.
On settling into your own private part of the house, well equipped, airy, and spacious, you can easily begin to feel as if the place was your own. Both John and Pat have managed to create an ambiance in which you are made to feel as if you are with family. From the warmth of the first greeting to the final heartfelt farewell everything is done to ensure that you are comfortable within their space.
John's knowledge of the island gave us access to areas not known to the average tourist, we found some beautiful isolated beachs.
We stayed with Pat and John for a couple of days to relax and unwind from city life. Their home is quiet, comfortable and quaint with a stunning view from the balcony and dining table of the bay below. Breakfast and dinner is prepared by John. His cooking skills are wonderful and his dishes are shared with love and care. We loved sitting with Pat and John each evening where we could soak in the view, eat yummy food, sip good wine and engage in the type of truly meaningful conversation that usually only takes place when time and space has been created.
Thank you for welcoming us and our dog Ruben into your home and in sharing yourselves and your beautiful slice of paradise, we left relaxed and richer for the experience.
John and Pat were jolly good hosts and we shared four nights with them. Priceless views and lots of laughs with them in their new gazebo around the campfire with delish' meals both inside and out since the weather was near perfect. We felt we had known them a lifetime because they made us feel at home. Good memories for us for sure.
We had a wonderful stay with Patricia & John in their home on Bruny Island. Our accomodation was private, clean & very comfortable. We had our own living area with TV, heater, microwave & tea & coffee making facilities. We were also given cupcakes! The bedroom was very comfortable with beautiful views over Daniels Bay! Glorious way to start the day! John made us breakfast on the 2 mornings that we stayed with them. They were amazing using homegrown & local produce not to mention the views from their dining room. Wonderful hosts & we would love to return some day.
Thank you Pat and John for making our trip to beautiful Bruny Island an amazing memorable relaxing hidden gem of Tasmania. We loved the food, company and scenery you introduced us too. We only wished we had more then 3 nights with you to taste some more of your catering and explore the many little scenic beaches. Fantastic breakfast to suit all our family needs. Thank you for giving us the option of inviting us to your music group. Great fun and great people. Thanks (website hidden) the oysters at "get shucked" are world class.
You would be hard pressed to find more inviting, generous and knowledgeable hosts than Pat and John. Four of us turned up at their place just after a freak storm that disabled power and water on Bruny for 32 hours. But this didn't phase them at all. The four of us enjoyed their local knowledge and our time with them.Tricia and Michael
Dear John and Pat,
Thank you so much for your extraordinary hospitality. We have felt very welcome and appreciate all the help you have given us.
We had a lovely afternoon picnic together and had a good conversation, we were all inspired by John. (and thank you Pat, I am a good crier and I appreciated your hug at that time. )
The breakfast was amazing, everything is delicate and delish.
We would like to come back again and we will definitely recommend you to others : )
Hope to see you soon.

We had such a great experience on Bruny Island staying with Pat and John, who could only be described as the nicest guests you could imagine. Highly recommended!
If all airbnb hosts were as good as Pat and John - airbnb would be a $ 100 billion business ! Outstanding in all respects - roomy, great views, gourmet breakfasts and a ukelele show to boot !!
Could not be faulted in any way !
