In September 2013, we found Camilla and John's B and B through another website. Before we arrived, we were strangers. When we left, we were friends.
I have absolutely no reservations about recommending Browne's B and B to anyone and everyone. Our communication with John and Camilla was excellent, their accommodations were exactly as described if not better, their helpfulness was incredible, and breakfast, oh my! I am not sure when we have eaten so well!
John and Camilla's home faces the bay and Eask Tower with a few cows in the view. It is not immediately in the town of Dingle so there is no problem with pub noise at night; however, Dan and I walked back from town 2 nights. It is a very easy location for exploring both the town and the rest of the Dingle Peninsula. Also, John is an avid bicyclist and they have bicycles to rent.
Before arriving, we had a rough idea of a few places to explore on Dingle Peninsula. Camilla was able to tell us which sites were most interesting, how long each hike might take, where to pick up a picnic lunch on the way, and she and John recommended several excellent restaurants and pubs. John is truly local to the peninsula and shared some of the local history and fun stories about the area. Among other things, we ended up taking a boat to Blasket Island, which was well worth the day trip, just after a hike to Eask Tower.
I have to admit that I strongly encouraged the Browne's to join the AirBnB community....which is our favorite way to travel. I am thrilled to see them on here and would happily answer other questions directly if anyone wants to send me a message. We look forward to seeing John and Camilla again, whether in Ireland or the US! We would happily host them in our home.
