Welcome to Maison de Marc, a former farmhouse dating from 1702, completely renovated to offer a high level of comfort and tasteful decor, located within the Chartreuse du Maine, one of the most remarkable estates in the Périgord. Here, just like in the 18th century, tranquility, space, and elegance ensure a stay designed for families with young children, couples, and travelers seeking a true getaway in the countryside, while still being centrally located near the Dordogne’s main attractions.

The space
Marc’s house is detached and faces south. It features a private garden with flowers and a shaded terrace, equipped with furniture and a barbecue, allowing you to enjoy a natural transition between a bright interior and the outdoors. A few steps lead to the entrance, and then the entire single-story space offers a sense of openness and easy movement. With its large, functional fireplace (wood provided), the living room transforms fall and winter stays into truly cozy experiences. There is a small desk for working, and the Wi-Fi provides a strong signal throughout the house.
The modern and very bright kitchen-dining room opens directly onto the garden through a French window, making it easy to eat outside, bring home groceries from the market, and enjoy life with the kids.
For sleeping, two bedrooms comfortably accommodate up to 4 guests.
• Double bedroom: 160 x 200 cm bed
• Twin bedroom: 2 twin beds
• A large bathroom opening onto the garden and a separate toilet complete the layout. A crib and high chair on request.
The estate covers 27 hectares of private parkland and woodland crisscrossed by walking paths, with a vegetable garden accessible depending on the season.
From May 15 to September 30, you can enjoy a large heated swimming pool, shared with the occupants of just two other vacation homes. The layout of the accommodations and gardens has been designed to preserve everyone’s independence and tranquility.

Guest access
Getting here is easy: secure parking for 2 cars is available in the inner courtyard of La Chartreuse du Maine. The covered areas other than Marc’s house are private and off-limits to ensure the property’s organization and safety.

My work: Photographer
Maxence, my partner, and I are delighted to personally welcome you to our family home, La Chartreuse du Maine. Making your holidays unforgettable is our raison d 'être. We can do this because we live on site, and are available and attentive... with great discretion. The Chartreuse du Maine was bought by my great-grandfather in 1925. Maine is the paradise of my childhood vacation (pampered by my grandparents), teenagers and adult women. This attachment to this place is the reason why Maxence and I left everything behind in Paris—family, friends, our careers as photographers and illustrators—to keep it and share it with you. It's a success story because for the past 15 years, thousands of people from all over the world have had an extraordinary holiday in Maine. We thank all the guests who have placed their trust in us and thanks to whom we are fulfilling our dream of sharing our joy of living in this unique, private estate.
