We had an excellent stay here for our first trip to Charleston. This was our first experience with airbnb and it could not have gone more smoothly. Paula was especially accommodating and I would highly recommend renting through her.
The condo itself was just what we were looking for. It is quiet and comfortable as it is tucked away in a neighborhood with some beautiful homes. There are great dining options such as Fuel and The Hominy Grill (two musts) right in the area. Most days we would walk in to the city, however, there is a free trolley to take you in to town or it is a cheap uber ride away if you are in a hurry. It is also a quick drive to Folly Beach if you bring a car.
Charleston is a phenomenal city and we are already making plans to come back. When we do, we will look forward to renting with Paula again.
This little charmer has it all! Location -- park your car just outside your door (off the street) and let your feet take you cafés, restaurants, corner groceries and interesting sites . Bicycles can be rented at Affordabike to take you all around town and the big bridge for dramatic views.
The condo, one flight up in a two-story house, is super cute, clean, comfy & carefully furnished ala 1950 's. Tiny kitchen but has all the expected appliances and who wants to prepare dinner with so many terrific eateries nearby? Generous supplies of personal toiletries and household items. Living room invites you to put your legs up and switch on the tv after hours out sightseeing. Loved getting PBS Sunday night for favorite series on flat-screen tv. All-in-all can't imagine a better home base in Chsrleston!
Although we didn't meet Paula in person , she sent me all the helpful info for checking in well in advance. The condo was clean, very nicely decorated, comfortable and very well equipped with lots of little unexpected amenities. The neighborhood, the Elliotborough district, has many great eateries within 1/2 mi to 1 mi. walking distance and also within walking distance is the free Trolley service that goes into historic Charleston, King St. shopping area and lots more eateries.
We found reservations days in advance were necessary for all the recommended restaurants. Not having known this during our short stay, we missed out on some of Charleston great food scene but we didn't starve and found some less well known alternatives.
Quaint place in a convenient location. The condo was a short walk to downtown and located near lots of great restaurants. The condo was very clean and great for relaxing in between activities. I'd stay here again!
Thank you, Paula! The condo was exactly as promised, and Paula was excellent about communicating with me before, during, and after our stay. Highly recommend!
Overall great little place. Good location, easy to get around to the local sights. Clean and cozy. In contrast to other reviewers, communication wasn't the greatest prior to our arrival. I tried to reach out in regards to checking in early on multiple occasions and didn't hear back until the day of our arrival only a couple hours before our regular check in time which wasn't very convenient. Overall good spot, sounds like Paula is typically on top of communication so I am assuming this is a pure fluke. Everything else was great!
The apartment was in a fabulous location, tucked in a neighborhood with some of the area's best restaurants. The space was so well appointed and cozy with plenty of linens for the two of us. In talking to the locals, they assured us that the neighborhood is as safe as it seems and we had no worries walking around in the evening. If we ever come back to Charleston, we will definitely stay here again!

I am a Charleston native.... our family enjoys trips to NYC and we are always up for a cruise!
My favorite things to do are shop for vintage goods and remodel homes.....sometimes one supports the other!!!
Airbnb has been a great experience for me! I love sharing the great city of Charleston with everyone.... I've been bringing friends here since I went off to college in the 70's;)
When we travel, we hope for a "real experience". How cool is it to stay among the locals and enjoy it all in your HOME away from home?
