***PLEASE NOTE*** NO LONGER ACCEPTING RESERVATIONS: I am no longer accepting reservations as I am 'winding down' my Air BnB. All current reservations of course, will be honoured. My time commitments no longer afford me the attention that it will require, so it has come time to 'hang my hat'. I have really enjoyed doing Air Bnb, and have met many, many amazing people, some of who have become friends, and that has made it all worthwhile. My best to all of you in your travel discoveries and experiences. I will be using Air BnB to travel, as it is a great idea, and am thankful to have had the opportunity to participate.
Kind regards, Rob Delaney - Victoria, BC

Great location, close proximity to downtown and attractions but on a semi-secluded side street so it's nice and quiet!' You will be sharing my home with me (1/2 duplex, phenomenal neighbours, total privacy!). Very established good quality neighbourhood. Very low crime area of the city (not that crime is a big issue here, but for those of you not familiar with the city, it's very safe to walk outside at all hours where I live).
Saturday markets (seasonal) are a 2 minute walk from the front door. The #7 City Bus is about 6 doors away from my front door, which takes you in to town (and back) if you choose not to walk ($2.50 each way per adult, w/a 1 hour transfer to another bus available at no additional charge if you are venturing further), as well, the #7 goes all the way to UVIC (University of Victoria).
Moss Rock Park is literally only 3 doors away, with views over the ocean to the Cascade Mountains in Washington State, USA (grab your coffee or tea and head up to the 'Rock' and take it all in.....) Large playing field about 5 doors away for Frisbee/baseball, kids play park, also a great area for a jog or a run/walk/bike.
7 minute walk to a neighbourhood plaza with a grocery store, liquor store, pharmacy, post office, pub, TD bank, great little Japanese restaurant, running store, and bakery (wow, a running store and a bakery within steps of each other......?) Cook Street Village is a pleasurable walk (10 min) offering the Moka House coffee shop which has a heated covered deck, The Beagle neighbourhood pub, several restaurants and cafes, and Primastrada Pizzeria for some of the best pizza I've ever tasted, (try the Funghi (Mushroom) it is bar none, 'incredible.') There is a Starbucks right across the street from the Moka House Coffee shop (I always thought there was a Starbucks across from every other Starbucks.) There is also a Starbucks about a 5 min. walk from my house, it is located directly across from the Ross Bay Cemetery (Historic Site). Imagine that....we can sit and drink coffee and look at those who can't anymore......
*Your friends and guests can be met at the many parks/bars/cafes/restaurants in the city. Non registered guests are not allowed in to the home for safety, security, and insurance requirements. (Thanks for your understanding).
* Please note as per Air BnB rules, that third party bookings are not allowed. (That means that you are booking under your name and paying under your name, and someone else shows up).
Rob was friendly and welcoming. He gave some really helpful tips and advises on what to do at Victoria. Quiet neighbourhood and pretty nice place.
Rob is delightful! What a sweet and hospitable guy. His house is beautiful and cozy, the bedroom is spacious and comfortable, his breakfast was delicious and he did everything he could to help us during our brief visit, including recommending a very tasty pizza place for dinner, and later doing his best to help me track down my favorite umbrella which I had left there. We had a great day in Victoria and Rob had a lot to do with it (him, and the amazing double-decker buses). We would recommend his place to anyone and will stay there again if we have the opportunity! This is only our second Air bnb stay, and I can't imagine it getting much better.
I contacted the mgr. of the restaurant, and I got a very sympathetic ear. They discussed with the staff, and did a 'sweep' of the premises. Lo and behold, a customer showed up and said they took the wrong brellie. And the rest, as they say, is history.....brellie on it's way to you. Cheers, Rob :)
This stay was great! Rob was an ideal host and the home was lovely! Rob was responsive and responsible in all transactions, helpful and generous with advice, and a joy to get to talk to! Rob's daughter Sarah was there during my stay and it was fun to get to know her, too. Rob's place is well located, in a lovely residential area with great walking opportunities and local shops and eateries, and it is also just a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk downtown. Rob has created a wonderfully appointed and comfortable home and keeps it clean and incredibly welcoming. Furthermore, he was generous with his first-day breakfast and teas (as I believe the profile describes)! As a first-time visitor of Victoria, a first-time AirBnB guest and a female traveling solo, I felt completely comfortable at the home and in the neighborhood at all times! If I ever have occasion to visit Victoria again, I'll hope to stay with Rob again and will look forward to it!
It was a genuine pleasure staying at Rob's. We stayed only one night but made thorough use of the house. The room and bed are very comfortable. The kitchen is well-organized. The breakfast (included) was a treat.
We are AirBnB hosts so we know what is involved, but Rob sets the standard for organized, well planned hosting. He takes hosting and care of his guests very seriously and we learned a few tips. In particular his handling of 'self-check-in' is very smart.
The street Rob is on is charming and, although close to everything, has a secluded, hide-away feel. Looking out the large front window from the dining table you can only see nature. You don't know you are in the middle of the town.
Three doors from Rob's house is a lovely park with fantastic views. On our short visit to the park we were joined by a family of deer enjoying their breakfast!
Bravo, Rob! Keep up the good work!
Rob was helpful, made us feel at home & he has quite a sense of humor. We enjoyed our stay.
My wife and I needed a place to stay for our one night in Victoria. This place was in a great location (mins away from downtown, close to the beach, and near almost everything you could possibly need), and the room was fantastic. Cozy bed, clean linens and the ability to adjust the heat in the room. The host (Rob Delaney) made us breakfast in the morning (he also catered to my gluten-free needs) and was a delight to talk to. This was our first airBnB experience, but I can't imagine experiences being much better. Thanks to Rob for the hospitality.
My husband and I had a delightful visit. Rob was very flexible and helpful. The accommodations were as expected. Clean, quiet and comfortable.
You must visit Moss Rock for sunrise, sunset or just the view.
Rob is a great host and has good energy. Very insightful about AirBNB as well as Victoria and afar. He accommodated my Gluten Free needs with no hassle.
We were in town for the 1/2 marathon and this was THE ideal spot to stay. Close to everything.
This was our first time using airbnb so we were a little unsure what to expect but we needn't have worried as Rob blew us away with his hospitality. The room is lovely and Rob provided a brilliant breakfast of fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, crumpets, juice and coffee on the first morning. He's a perfect host and lovely, friendly guy as well and provided us with loads of great advice on things to see, places to eat and drink in Victoria. In particular the recommendation for the hidden away Hernande'z Mexican food place was a winner. The house is just a short bus ride or pleasant 20 minute walk into downtown Victoria and make sure you go just around the back to check out the sunset from Moss Rock with a view of the seafront and the Olympic Peninsula across the water.
My husband and I totally enjoyed our brief stay at Robs. OMG, he irons his sheets and that alone is worth the visit! He is an amazing man and host, I was going alone initially but my husbands schedule allowed him to come. Single women should not hesitate staying -he has a darling daughter. terrific with local ideas and info. I'm recommending him to my group of 90 hiking women! I'm definitely returning:)
One of the best places we've stayed on airbnb! Rob's house is very nice and welcoming and he is a truly excellent host. Really nice bed and superb breakfast. Definitely recommend it!
