The main center of Willemstad is separated in two quarters: Punda and Otrobanda which basically means ‘City’ and ‘The other side’. As you can guess: Punda is more touristic: there are more cafes, restaurants, general stores (as well as souvenir shops) and the overal architecture looks more modern and maintained. As fun as Punda is to see, you’ll find a more authentic side of Curaçao at Otrobanda – and that definitely counts for something! If you are going to Willemstad the best way to discover Punda and Otrobanda is by foot.. just take in every street you’ll cross. Below a
Otrobanda: On your less than 10 minute walk to the Pontoon bridge you walk by the Kura Hulanda Hotel and it's anthropological Museum. It impressively exhibits the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade in its totality. At the 'Brion square' you'll find nice cafes and restaurants and you can watch the big oil tankers come in. Good shopping you'll find at the Riffort and Renaissance Mall and in the 'Breedestraat'. Have a coffee at Starbucks. Many good restaurants in this area too and all within walking distance of each other.
Punda: If you cross the amazing pontoon bridge turn left and it is only a short walk to the floating fruit and vegetable market. The nearby old market (Plaza Bieuw) where you can eat together with the locals 'kuminda krioyo' (local food), like keshi yena (stuffed cheese), grilled mula (fish) or karni stoba (beef stew) is a must do. Along the way you'll find many (tax free) shops. From brand name clothing to jewelers and from perfumes to flip flop and souvenir shops. Here you will also find the Mikvé Israel Emanuel Synagogue. Have a drink at the queen 'Wilhelmina Square' or at the Iguana cafe watching the huge container ships come into the Anna Bay.
The central bus station is close by but public transportation is not always on time. In the apartment is a bus schedule.

We can't say enough good things about our experience here. The apartment is absolutely gorgeous! The pool is prefect and the kitchen is really well stocked. We rented a car while on the island and there was parking available for us as well. We loved our morning coffee out on the deck and eating dinner at a proper dining room table. The property managers were helpful and available to us at all times. We'll definitely be returning!
My wife and I had complete faith in this property and Inez. This was our honeymoon and very special to us, our stay was amazing. The house is immaculate, the pool is beautiful, shower and washroom were really great with awesome furnishing and finishes. The location is really perfect with town being a few steps away. Inez was amazing in all communication and even helped with facilitating a car rental. Thank you so much, this will forever be a memory for us.
We had an amazing stay - everything was exactly as promised by Inez, the house was beautiful, clean, everything worked wonderfully, and the location was super convenient. We even had a parking spot that came with the house. The property manager and her husband also made us very welcomed. Highly recommend to anyone coming to Willemstad!
Better than shown on pictures!! this appartment is awesome, it's beautiful inside and even better outside (pool area)!!
the location is perfect (about 5-10min walking distance to otrabanda/punda center. I can only recommend it, best stay in curacao, we loved to be there!!
Simple, beautiful, we would stay there again. The space was well equipped, spacious and close to the heart of curaçao. The goat was very accommodating, I was able to surprise my girlfriend and the host helped to do that. We would definitely stay there again.
This apartment was really ideal for our stay in Curaçao! It's very close to the center of Willemstad and has everything you need.
Especially the pool was really nice to cool off in the morning, afternoon, evening, night... :-)
We highly recommend this appartment to everyone! The pictures don't lie!!
Location: Spectacular, very close to the center of Willemstad (in otrabanda) and within 5 minute walk of bank and grocery store (Arubastraat and Frederickstraat) 10 minute historical walk to waterfront (many restaurants there), bus station, Rif fort and Punda. Location and local architecture was so good we did not rent a car for the first half of our stay. Safe as well Cleanliness: Better than the beautiful pictures made us expect! Accomodations: Wonderful! The pool was a welcome surprise as were all the "home" amenities and A/C in the bedroom. Since everything was here there was no reason to contact Babette or Inez Check-in: Babette was a pleasure and easy to deal with even with our late check in Curacao in general: Our first trip here was so pleasant it will not be our last. We were surprised that more Americans are not familiar with Curacao

About the Host, Inez
Hello, my name is Inez. My family lives in Curaçao for over twelve years now. We very much love the island. In the colorful city of Willemstad my husband developed a love for historic buildings. Not only because they are beautifully designed works of art, but they also represent a time and place in the history of the island Curacao. In 2012 we bought Kas di Laman. Not more than a ruin at that time. Together with a team of skilled workers we completely renovated this old town villa. I am very proud to say, in May 2013, the villa has found new life and a new purpose. On the first floor we constructed a luxurious apartment. If you want a little more than soft sand and blue waters alone than this is the place for you. We invite all people who love Caribbean city life, historic sites, Dutch colonial architecture and old buildings to come and stay at Kas di Laman. You will not be disappointed. Hope to see you soon! Sunny regards, Inez
