Charming & comfortable stay on a quiet street in one of Chicago's most vibrant and historic neighborhoods. Great food/bars, interesting architecture, Wrigley Field, comedy clubs, the lake, zoo, and parks all just steps away from your front door.
You're welcome to use the kitchen at any time to cook, make coffee/tea, and to keep things in the fridge
Please note that this listing was recently converted from a shared space to a private space. Some reviews may reference me being there with them. That is no longer the case. You'll have the entire space to yourselves.
I live on the edge of Lincoln Park/Lakeview in an historic building. Built in 1904, my 2 br/1.5 bath home has a ton of character including window seats, original wood, and high ceilings. It's rumored that Al Capone used one of the units as a speakeasy.
While it's over a century in age, it's recently undergone a huge facelift. Updated bathrooms and kitchen give you the old school charm with all of the modern comforts - including central air conditioning.
When you arrive, I'll provide a short paper guide to help you get around town during your stay complete with restaurant recommendations and directions to popular destinations.
- Tons of restaurants, bars, & shops
- The beautiful Lincoln Park (the actual park too)
- The lake and lakefront path
- Trader Joes and Urban Wal-mart
- Landmark Movie Theatre
- Lincoln Park zoo
- Wrigley Field
- The Nature Museum
- Yak-zies and the Laugh Factory comedy clubs
- DePaul University
- Kingston Mines (Blues bar)
I'm close to public transit - on the bus, it takes me less than 30 minutes to get downtown. There are 9 bus lines within a 5-minute walk of my front door that'll take you to different parts of downtown and the north side of the city.
#134 LaSalle Express
#143 Michigan Ave Express
#151 Michigan Ave
I'm also a 15 minute walk from the Red, Brown, and Purple El stops if you'd prefer to take the train.

Street parking is free, but often times hard to find. There's a parking garage behind my building that costs $21/day by credit card only.
You'll have private access to the entire unit including both bedrooms each with a queen-sized bed, kitchen, bathrooms, and living areas.
I hope that when you come, you'll make yourself at home and treat my place as you would your own.
Some basic rules:
- If you smoke, please smoke outside only.
- Please be respectful of my neighbors. It's a condo and while the walls aren't super thin, please keep noise to a minimum after 10p on weekdays and 12a on weekends.
The apartment was even better than I expected. Rebecca had everything we could ever need and more; movies, games, books. The place is so inviting and cozy. My family came over and we had plenty of room to play cards and catch up. The bedrooms are a good size and the shower is amazing! The location is so close to everything. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, lots of shopping, even a Wal Mart across the side street. The building is safe and oh so nice.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your lovely Lincoln Park apartment. It was nice to have Michael arrive a day earlier than me and have his two children (who live in Lincoln Park) there with him to greet us when we arrived. We generally go out to dinner every night when we visit, but because your apartment was so spacious and so well equipped, we cooked dinner (or brought dinner in) two of the three evenings I was there. How wonderful to give this type of family setting to both my grandchildren. Michael has always stayed in a hotel room and never had the ability to watch t.v., pop popcorn, get a soft drink when you wanted one, play games, talk and share silliness prior to this visit. It was great and the kids enjoyed it so much. They left every evening at 7:30 to go back to their place, but most of the time very reluctantly as they enjoyed spending time with their dad and his mother and sister. Thank you for that. Michael would love to rent your apartment each and every time he visits Chicago. It was a short 5 min. walk to where his children live with their mother.
No complaints, we all enjoyed ourselves very much. Michael is a single guy and he stayed one day longer than Mikki and I, so hope he left your lovely place in good order.
I stayed here with 3 others and we all absolutely loved our stay. I would love to live in this apartment permanently. The pictures are exactly what the place looks like. Clean, well decorated, comfortable beds, great kitchen. Do note that it is a kosher kitchen and it's requested to keep it that way if possible. It only meant no bacon for us in the morning! Would highly recommend, and can't wait to stay here again if I return to Chicago.
Rebecca's condo is superb - comfortable spacious quiet warm w/ all creature comforts. Freezing during cold spell made Rebecca's place more than welcoming to come home to. Perfect place for week visit. Rebecca is communicative + knows ins and outs. She helped w our wifi code + Chgo hangout quests before we finished our thoughts.
Sum great place to stay + to have Rebecca as host.
Wonderful stay, fantastic host. The area is great, with so much going on around! Rebecca was more than welcoming and accommodating for me. Beautiful and comfortable space. Rebecca provided many local recommendations for food and more, even loaning her museum pass. She was easy to coordinate with. I would stay here again for sure. While immediate street parking can be a challenge, there is plenty of paid parking nearby on side streets and a public parking garage nearby. Rebecca was a huge help with my parking situation, it worked out perfectly. Great first experience with Air BnB! Thank you!
Great neighborhood. Beautiful apartment. Everything as promised. In and out as smooth smooth.
My husband and I needed a billet for four days over the Christmas holiday. Rebecca was as helpful as could be, even remotely! The apartment is clean and spacious and newly appointed. The shower is killer-great! We wanted to be in Lakeview to be near family. It's a really terrific area - shops, restaurants, coffeehouses, movies...very vibrant.

The thing I enjoy most in life is meeting new people and traveling to new places. I think there's something that can be learned from everyone you meet and I'm hoping to learn as much as possible.
I grew up in a suburb of Chicago (where my family still lives today) and spent a couple years down in Austin, TX - in my opinion, the 2nd-best city in the U.S. If you're looking for things to do in Austin or Chicago, I'm your woman.
Having fun has more to do with who you're with than what you're doing and nothing great ever happens if you just stay at home.
For some reason Farsi isn't on Air BnB's list of spoken languages, but I can speak that one too.
