You’ll fall in love with our place because of the light, the high exposed ceilings, the original hardwood floors, it's coziness, kitchen concrete counters, comfy beds and the wet room with bathtub looking out onto the the expansive back yard, complete with sauna! Our place is close to DTLA, The Arts District, Chinatown, Highland Park, Mt. Washington, Silverlake, Los Feliz, Echo Park, Eagle Rock, Pasadena, Elysian & Debs Park.

The space
Our house was built in 1890 and retains much of the original charm, with large windows and doors throughout the space which allows for plenty of light. The house was completely remodeled in 2016 with a rustic modern eye. From the driveway, below the stairs, is a small door that is the laundry room. Up the stairs and onto the patio, take in the striking view of the downtown skyline. Through giant glass doors to the living space / 3rd bedroom (separated by curtains) which has a 16ft pitched ceiling. This opens into the dining room and full kitchen where large windows open out into the lush back yard. Around the corner is a full bathroom with shower wet room and separate bathtub with views of the garden through French doors. Further down the hall is the main bedroom with king size bed, two closets, high ceilings and views from the bed out of the double French doors. Through the dining room is a door that leads into a self contained side apartment with its own separate entrance from the outside. First you enter a sweet kitchenette area. Through to the left is the bathroom with shower wet room. Back through the kitchenette down a few steps is a living room with sleeper couch , TV and table. You must pass through this space to access the second bedroom which is upstairs to a loft with queen size bed and skylights. The back yard has a large dining table on the first level. There are a number of platforms leading up the hill. At the top is a Swedish barrel sauna and just below is a butterfly chair seating area under a tree and another level with loungers where you can relax and enjoy the scenery.

Where you’ll be

Los Angeles, California, United States

Lincoln Heights is the second oldest area of Los Angeles, many of the houses here (including ours) are Victorian. The area was the site of the original Chinatown before it moved less than 2 miles west to the other side of the LA River. We are next door to Highland Park which has many new and established, eateries, venues and cinema. Broadway which runs from Lincoln Heights to Downtown also has a number of bars and amazing local food, it runs parallel with Spring St which goes through Chinatown where alongside the established venues now boasts many new bars and restaurants. Although it's close to the city, the house still has a very rural feel. You will hear birds, chickens and roosters. You may even see some in the garden during your stay as our neighbors chickens will find their way over!
