Guests highlight the thoughtful design and say the cabin exceeds the photos
Built in 1970, and thoughtfully renewed in 2023, The Shady Frame delivers the idyllic Northwest mountain escape. Inspired by Scandinavian rustic living with a nod to modern styling and luxury.

Located just 10 mins from Mt. Rainier National Park & 20 mins from White Pass Ski Area.

Elopers are welcome! Please inquire with your scope and thoughts. Non-overnight guests up to 12 are accepted.

The space
Tucked away in the notable Timberline Community, the cabin is located in the last developed area before Mt. Rainier National Park and White Pass Ski Area, making The Shady Frame your perfect home base for a myriad of outdoor adventures and discovery.

Cabin Highlights:

- 6 Person Hot Tub
- 2 person mezzanine loft net - so comfy!
- Custom fire table with built in seating
- Wood stove (firewood provided)
- All lights on dimmers (set the mood)
- Parking for up to 4 vehicles
- Vibes for days

Once inside, you'll find that the cabin is well provisioned for both families and friendly gatherings. From mixing craft cocktails to cooking elaborate group meals, the kitchen is fully equipped to handle whatever you can throw at it, though please don't actually throw anything at it.

On the first floor, the A-frame flows nicely with an open layout that caters to both entertaining and relaxation, the large living room ties naturally in with the kitchen and built-in dining area.

Some of my favorite, yet subtle things...

On a sunny Saturday evening - sitting on the sofa, typically with a quality bourbon, basking in the light that pours in from the A-frame windows while watching the shadows from the trees dance along the A-frame walls.

Late night conversations around the fire table.

Other things to note
Travel Notice:

Packwood is situated at the base of White Pass with an elevation and climate that occasionally produces inclement winter driving conditions.

Although the community of timberline in addition to road access to the cabin is regularly plowed during winter, during the months of November - April, 4WD / AWD vehicles are strongly recommended for travel, and in some cases very necessary to arrive and depart safely to and from the cabin.
