Our house is beautifully located on an oceanfront lot with a pool!! Surfing out the backyard, snorkeling, hiking and beautiful beaches just a few minutes away!!
The view here is one of a kind! The house is pretty open and always has a nice breeze rolling through! There are 5 people living here, but everyone works a lot and is hardly around. All very friendly and easy going.
You are free to use all of our amenities, pool, BBQ, kitchen, laundry ect... Also if someone is around we could take you out surfing in the backyard!!
Everyone in the house enjoys meeting new people! So if we are around we'd love to hang out or even show you around to some of our fav local spots!
Our neighborhood is very quiet. All upscale oceanfront homes. Also just down the street past Dog the bounty hunter's place is a great spot for cliff jumping, swimming, snorkeling or diving!!
The closest bus stop is about 3 blocks away. I would recommend renting a car to get around.
Excellent choice! Brady is a very nice and friendly person. We spent only 2 nights in his place but had so much fun with him and his friends! We arrived late at night and were very well welcomed. Then he really made us feel at home. Beautiful location, with nice garden straight on the beach. Very quiet place. We enjoyed the room, the nice bathroom and also the outside shower and the swimming-pool although we did not have time to use it! We will definitely manage to stay there any time we'll travel to Honolulu. And hope he'll come visit us in our home country. We also highly recommend this place to anyone who wish to be near Waikiki and don't want the stress of the big city.Mahalo Brady!
Calling this listing and its residents awesome would be a severe understatement. Booking and communication was great, the arrival process was flawless, and the house is in an unbelievable location.
The bedroom was a perfect size and had a mini-fridge, local magazines, plenty of power outlets, and a nice breeze blowing through. I never took a shower in the bathroom, because.. with an outdoor shower under a mango tree (with privacy), why would you ever shower inside?
The kitchen had everything you'd need to cook several meals, and a grocery store is only a short drive away. There's a grill outside, with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating.
Outside? Extremely calming. You can't ever be unhappy when you're lying in a hammock under palm trees. There's also a pool, and covered seats for the occasional showers.
Now, about the residents.. these guys make their guests feel like ohana. They were very welcoming, helpful with tips for the area and with borrowing random stuff I didn't have, and a lot of fun to hang out with. I wouldn't hesitate to let any of them stay at my place if they were in the area.
So is this listing right for you? If you're looking for a massive hotel within walking distance to fancy shops, 24-hour room service, and the ability to buy T-Shirts/magnets/timeshares every 50 ft, then no.. I would stick with Waikiki.
If you're looking to stay with a great group of really chill guys in a great house in a beautiful, non-urban part of Oahu, this is the place for you. You should stop searching and book it now before someone else does.
I am so happy that we found this place on airbnb. Way better than a hotel! The guys were so much fun and so easy to be around. They house is huge and our room was clean. It was beautiful having an outdoor shower right under a mango tree. I felt like I made great new friends and will definitely be back!
Brady and the guys were great. A beautiful open and airy space to kick it for a few on Oahu. I wished I had more time to hang out on the property as you really could while the hours away swinging in the hammock and looking at the water. The room is clean and comfortable, has super convenient bathroom access and a little fridge.
My stay with Brady and the guys at Portlock was really terrific. It was everything I had expected from their listing, and more! They are very gracious hosts and the house is a comfortable place to stay. I couldn't have asked for better accommodations while in Honolulu visiting my son.
It's an awesome oceanfront place with lovely hosts. There are constantly 6-10 people staying at this large villa from the 50s, so it's never boring. We have had a superb X-Mas dinner and a splendid NYE party with two pools, three DJs and 200+ guests. The hosts were more than helpful, I felt treted as a good friend. There is also enough room for a quiet chill out. Having your own car is helpful to quickly get into town or to beaches. I'll most definitely come back! Mahalo
Fantastic! Brady and the boys are so welcoming and the house is fantastic! Great fun - only wish I could've stayed a few more nights!
Great location away from the tourist hordes at Waikiki, but still within a stone's throw of the best that Oahu has to offer. The waterfront location is amazing, though I have to say that the guys are the best part of the house--chilled out and easygoing. There's a fan, though it can get stuffy with the Hawaiian heat.
My biggest gripe was with their neighbour who had a penchant for blasting classical music at 5a in the morning. Guess you can't choose your neighbors!
The house has an incredible view and Brady and his roommates were great, especially Kurt, who tried to teach us how to surf right outside the house on his birthday! The house is also in a great neighbourhood close to Hanauma Bay and away from busy traffic in Waikiki.
The only downside during our stay was that the shower next to us at the time was not functional and we used the outdoor shower, but they had that fixed right when we left... :)
Brady and his roommates are the best hosts! They know the island very well; they are a friendly and very organized/clean group of gentlemen. Their location is great for anyone who wants to spend time on Oahu that is away from the prototypical tourist culture.
The backyard is the best part of the house! It has absolutely beautiful views of the sunrise and sunset. It is also right on the water, so you can step into the ocean if you'd like.
