It's setting is quiet and serene and just a few steps from the largest of our ponds here at Bearpaw Ranch. Great for bird watching and close to extraordinary hiking. Cozy adobe with a rock fireplace and well equipped large kitchen.

The space
Very near the Gila Wilderness and river. Horse friendly. 35 m from Silver City NM off highway. The Stewart House is very private and serene. Bearpaw Ranch straddles the Gila river and the river is just a short walk away. The largest of our 4 ponds is just a short walk from the front door. We allow catch and release fishing for our guests.

Fully furnished adobe house. Two bedrooms, large living room with lovely rock fireplace. Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, full size frig and even a workable antique wood cook stove. Washer and dryer, satellite TV and WiFi.

This is a small working ranch and we are usually busy working on something. We love meeting new folks but also respect your privacy. You can spend days never seeing anyone if you so choose. There is a small community library and Senior Citizen center 3milles down the road if you want to be more sociable. It is really up to you. We want your stay here to be restful and restorative, or busy and challenging. Whichever is your cup of tea.

My work: Bearpaw Ranch
Lives in Gila, New Mexico
I'm a real country, out in the boonies kind of a gal....maybe even a hermit. I love the Gila and Southwestern New Mexico. I have lived here in this house for 43 years and have no desire to live anywhere else. This property is my delight, and I feel so blessed to be able to share it with my many guests from all around the country and even the world. There is a serenity here. It makes me so happy when folks come here and find it.
