Hidden off the street by a wild garden is my home. The house is centrally located in the heart of Cooper and Young. There are two bedrooms, a fully outfitted kitchen, bathroom, living room, and a shared laundry room. The cottage is one of two homes on the property. Both houses have separate entrances and are secluded from each other.
You can walk to Java Cabana for coffee, Young avenue deli for some pool and a beer, or Burke's bookstore to pick up something to read. On Saturday's we have a farmers market at First Congo Church.
Please play the Lowrey organ in the kitchen, or any of the guitars laying around, and feel free to ask me any questions if you want to know more.
The gusts have access to everything that they can see! We currently have two bikes with a lock and are working on getting some more.
Interaction with Guests
We travel a lot but when we are home we are always there for the guests. Some like to have their privacy and some like to hang out. Bottom line we really enjoy hosting and the spectrum of people is what makes it great.
Cooper Young is home to several great restaurants and bars all within walking distance of my home. A quick car ride away is also Overton Square with even more restaurants, bars and theaters where you can catch a play or a movie.
I would highly suggest renting a car during your stay in memphis if you don't already have one.
We rented 4 AirBnB places in Memphis and this is hands down our favorite. Jordan was very responsive and easy to communicate with. The cottage was clean, cozy and charmingly decorated with an eclectic array of interesting artwork, furniture, and artifacts. It's located in a very walkable neighborhood and has very comfortable beds. If we go to Memphis again, we would happily stay here again.
Couldn't have asked for a better location- my girlfriend and I went to explore Memphis and eat and drink well and the Cooper Young area is the place to do it. Jordan's place was a 5 min walk from the heart of this growing neighborhood and we were very happy with such convenience. Jordan's place is cozy and offers what you need for a few days stay. Of note, on cold nights the place can get a little damp. It's a great place to stay, we'll return.
Jordan's cottage bungalow is wonderful! The location is perfect for walking to restaurants and shops in Cooper-Young. Jordan is a warm and welcoming host. The cottage includes super comfortable mattresses and a relaxing rainwater shower. We're very grateful to Jordan for our stay!
Jordon was quick to respond to my questions and make suggestions for entertainment and eating. The description of the house was accurate however we would have liked to have known a few details. The bath tub is claw footed which makes it difficult for us older folks to get in and out of. The washer and dryer were not available due to delays in remodeling but Jordan did adjust our rate. The neighborhood was quite and friendly. It was easy to get downtown. We enjoyed having the house and relaxing in the front yard with our wine.
Jordan's house is eclectic and inviting, just like the neighborhood. He provided all the amenities you could want in case you forgot to bring something. And he was an excellent host. There was some confusion over the availability of the washer dryer and he immediately responded and offered me a more than satisfactory solution. Would happily stay there again.
Love the house, it was decorated really nice and was well furnished with what we might need. Had one problem had to call him about, however he did not mind me calling. Love people like that. Neighborhood was really nice also, was able to take a morning walk each day and feel safe. Thanks, will stay again if I return to Memphis
Charming and eclectic place in a terrific neighbourhood that's within walking distance to nice bars and restaurants. We arrived during a freak snowstorm which unfortunately meant we were quite chilly, but within moments of contacting him, our host was at our door with more comforters, which did the trick. Would love to stay here again, hopefully when the weather is better! The two beds are exceptionally comfortable. The sofa bed is perfectly fine to sleep on in a pinch, but not recommended for a long stay. Loved the record player and all the instruments. Very gracious host who is clearly proud of his great city and home.
