The apartment has a water heater which means that you'll get hot water 24 hours a day in your bathroom and the kitchen. Clean sheets, bedding and towels are provided and changed every week (if you stay for more than a week) and your room will be cleaned and bed made Monday through Friday if you wish.
There is free wireless internet in the apartment and cable TV in your room. The bedroom has a heater in case the temperature drops and you feel the need to use it, although the apartment gets lots of sun and is generally warm.
To wash and iron your laundry you can use the washing machine as well as the iron and ironing board or pay the cleaning lady to have it done for you.
The kitchen is fully equipped, you can make use of it any time you want, space will be provided in the fridge as well as shelf space in the kitchen for your supplies.

Interaction with Guests
I do freelance stuff over the internet so I´ll be around a lot of the time.
Please let me know at what time you will be arriving in La Paz. Once you get here please call me so that I can wait for you.
The apartment is located in the south side of the city, Calacoto to be exact, one of the best residential neighborhoods of La Paz, so it is very quiet and safe.
Calacoto is about three to four hundred meters less in altitude than the center of town which is 3,600 meters above sea level, which means it is two to three degrees centigrade warmer and there is more oxygen! (La Paz is between 3100 and 3900 meters above sea level, depending on what part of the city you’re at; that translates to about 10,170 feet to 12,795 feet, or between 1.93 and 2.42 miles. Denver is left far behind! (Or should I say below?).
The apartment is ten blocks from San Miguel, a prime commercial and shopping center and the trendiest neighborhood of La Paz, where you’ll find a number of cafes and excellent restaurants of all kinds, featuring local as well as international fare.
One of the 20 best restaurants in Latin America, Gustu, is just a block away. It offers one of the finest combinations of fusion/local food anywhere.
Six blocks away you will find the Green Line cable car (teleférico) station. The best views of the city can be had from it, really special. Plus it´s safe and cheap.
Five blocks in the opposite direction from the apartment you can find a couple of the most popular bars and pubs in town. There is also a mall with a multiplex and more restaurants and pubs, as well as commercial outlets of all kinds, bank branches and ATMs, about twelve to fourteen blocks away.
There is a small supermarket nearby and a much larger one within walking distance (five to ten minutes) and there are a couple of tiny grocery stores around the corner.
There is a very nice pub/restaurant that goes by the name Risky Business that also serves breakfast some fifty meters from the apartment. Three blocks away is the five stars Camino Real Hotel with the La Tranquera restaurant that offers fine Bolivian and international food. Also three blocks away Cafe Arco Iris is a good alternative to Risky Business, it serves sandwiches, salads, pastries and more beginning at 8am. There is a drugstore diagonal to the Camino Real Hotel.
From the apartment there are all kinds of public transportation from Avenida Ballivian. It is the South Side´s (Zon Sur) main thoroughfare which is just three blocks away, which means you can get to the center of town in 20 to 40 minutes depending on traffic. There is also a taxi stand around the corner from the apartment.
If you want to take the cable car to the city the Green Line station is only six blocks away. You will get the best views of La Paz from it, really spectacular!
Parking space for one car is provided in the building.
The airport is 15 kilometers away (about 9 miles). The most convenient way to get to the airport from here is by taxi.
If you come in late at night (after about 11pm) or very early in the morning (before about 7am) please try to be quiet. No smoking allowed; you can always go outside for a smoke.
The closets give you lots of storage room; at left the entrance and the bathroom right in front. || Los closets son amplios; a la izquierda la puerta frente al baño.

I have two listings on Airbnb. I inadvertently accepted a reservation for the listing which was already reserved thinking it was the other listing. The listing which was already reserved was not reserved through Airbnb, it was a word of mouth reservation which is why it did not appear on my calendar. I only realized my mistake when I saw that the amount per night did not square with the number of guests and my rate for my other listing (the one I thought I was renting out). Of course, it coincided with the listing which I was in effect renting by mistake. Fortunately, I saw this apparent discrepancy immediately after the reservation was made such that in less than an hour after the couple made the reservation they were notified of my mistake.
Carlos was a fantastic host and his place was great! It's far from the center, but in a very safe neighborhood with several great restaurants nearby. Zona Sur is also well connected by public busses about 2 blocks away from Carlos's house, a radio taxi stand one block away, and a short walk to the teleferico that heads over to Sopocachi and up to El Alto, if you want a great view of the city or are feeling adventurous and want to take a walk downhill to downtown.
Carlos made sure I had everything I needed and knew my way around the city, and even took me on a little driving tour of his area and provided me with suggestions of things to see.
I also highly recommend trying Gustu a block away while you're in the neighborhood.
The guest bedroom with private bathroom is very nice and clean. The location is situated in the nice southern area of La Paz. The apartment is very close to one of the best restaurants of La Paz , Gustu and 5' walking to the green line of the teleferico.
Excelente lugar muy limpio muy ordenado, Carlo es supér buen anfitrión, muchas gracias por todo!
Carlos is a nice host, his appartement is clean, new and in a very good neighborhood, even though it's far from downtown area but it's very easy to go there. There is the radio taxi right around the corner. We had a really good time in La Paz and his place.
Good place in La Paz, next to the famous restaurant GUSTU. Good internet and erudite & friendly host; I had a good conversation with Carlos, and he ensured my short stay was a pleasant one.

About the Host, Carlos
When I was at George Washington University in Washington D.C. a couple of years ago I stumbled upon Airbnb. It seemed like a great idea so I decided to give it a try. I wanted to visit some friends up in New York and take in the U.S. Open as well so I booked a stay in a place in Queens (where I used to live when I was in grade school) and it worked out fine.
When I returned home I decided to try the opposite side of the coin and be a host, I must admit, not without a little bit of trepidation. I mean, I had roommates in college with whom I even shared the same room, but that was a long time ago. So, since I had a spare bedroom in the place where I was living I went ahead and rented it out through Airbnb.
Anyway, I’m happy to say that I’ve enjoyed hosting interesting and fine guests and I’m glad that I decided to become a host. Now that I have the chance to be a host for an entire apartment I’m looking forward to meeting other interesting and fine people. My hope is that I might make a difference in their, actually your, enjoyment and appreciation of La Paz if you come here, helping you to have the best experience possible. See you soon!
