About This Listing
I'm offering two rooms in my island-themed shotgun house. There is a common space converted into a bedroom in addition to another bedroom. Also, I have three bikes that are available for your use and included in your stay.
I live three blocks from the fairgrounds where Jazzfest is held. My neighborhood is known as Bayou St. John or the Fairgrounds Triangle. Within a short walk in my neighborhood you will see stunning architecture, friendly neighbors, a sweet coffee shop, several restaurants and a grocery store.
You will have access to three bikes. You can bike to the bayou, City Park, the French Quarter and Marigny/Bywater all within 20 minutes. New Orleans is a flat city and great for biking. I also have a washer and dryer to use at your convenience.
Other Things to Note
I have a puppy named Ditto. He's adorable and if you like dogs, you'll like Ditto.
Not enough words can describe how thankful I am that we were paired up with Adam. This was my first air b n b experience and I hope that every experience is like this. We were greeted after a 14 hour drive with beers. He took us out on the town several times, cooked breakfast and dinner for us, let us borrow his bikes, and canoed down the bayou to the Greek Festival. Adam and his dog, ditto, are the sweetest and were the best. Our rooms and beds were very comfortable and perfect for the vacation. He was so accommodating and recommended so many awesome places both touristy and local. I would stay with Adam every time if he was in every state. If you want an awesome NOLA experience you should stay here!
San Francisco is a great city and Adams place is a perfect location to explore it. By bike you are in 15 min in French quarter (2 of them are available for usage). We used both 2 beds and you have your privacy.
Adam does has a dog however, which is a very sweet one by the way, but you also have the hair of the dog allover the place.
Late afternoon we felt real americans by playing a game on the porch ;)
If you dont want to spent too much money, this is the place to be!
Exactly like the other reviews, Adam was extremely welcoming. He answered the door with beers in his hands to offer to us. Immediately he suggested things for us to do which, honestly, there are so many things going on in NOLA at any given moment that it isn't hard to find something to do. Within 24 hours we stumbled across 3 different festivals.
The main reason we chose this place was because of the bikes he had for his guests to use. One of the bikes needed a new tube but Adam fixed it for us. Biking around was the best way to see NOLA. You really get a feel for the local area. As my friend and I discussed this was a great way to start out instead of staying in the tourist area and spreading out. We also met a few of Adam's friends who were just as welcoming and exactly the type of personalities you would expect when using AirBNB.
Thanks Adam for a great stay! Next time we visit again we should get together to grab a drink!
Great location. Bikes included. Not a luxury experience but great local experience. Walked to cafes rode to restaurants, sat on the porch and talked with passersby.
