About This Listing
This private studio apartment is modern and cozy. You are near the pool and nestled under a large walnut tree. There is space for you to store your bikes and luggage. You can walk or drive downtown in minutes to the Russian River Brewery.
The studio is a newly built unit that on the outside looks like an authentic 1940's garage, and on the inside is a modern and quaint studio apartment. In the Summer months you can enjoy our backyard and swimming pool (with a great tube style water slide!) The unit is detached from the main house and very well insulated. I think you'll see from our many wonderful reviews that guests love our poolside studio.
The studio is well equipped with all of the cooking utensils you will need, fridge, gas stove, microwave, toaster, etc... You will find basics like spices and oil, sugar, etc... There is a French Press coffee maker and a tea selection (please bring your own coffee).
There is a queen bed and a full size fold out sofa in the studio. There is also a fold out full size foam mat, so there is plenty of room for 5- 6 people to sleep!
Our home is located under large very old walnut trees, this brings shade and the occasional spider and bug.
The pool area & pool house is shared between myself and my family and other Airbnb guests who are staying in the house, but you will find that it is rarely used and you will most likely experience much privacy poolside.
** Please note that to access the bathroom you will be stepping outside the apartment for literally one step. This is via the pool room, not the outdoors. The bathroom is only yours, not shared with any other guests.
*Confirmed guests PLEASE read your "Itinerary" once your stay is booked so you know how to check yourself in, where to park, etc. This property has self check in instructions.
There is a market 1 block away, Santa Rosa's Historic Railroad Square is a mere 8 block walk, and downtown Santa Rosa (RUSSIAN RIVER BREWERY) is a mile away- a 20 minute walk.
Our listings include a 12% local "hotel tax" for stays shorter than 30 days, this is included in the nightly price already- not added on later.
You may park in the driveway unless there is already a car there, in that case park on the street in front of my house or a neighbors house.
Your studio has a full kitchen and bath (no bathtub, just a shower). You also have access to the shared pool room space, and the pool itself.
Please ask before inviting guests over to swim.
Interaction with Guests
I don't interact much with studio guests, if we run into each other we just chat for a few moments. I am happy to be of assistance so you are free to message me anytime, I am right next door. You might see other Airbnb guests, me and my family, or my neighbors during pool season at the pool, and in the small pool room by your unit. The pool is a big hit with all and you are very welcome to join in on swimming time anytime!
I love that my neighborhood is so close to Hwy 101 & Hwy 12, Historic Railroad Square and Downtown. Our street is very secluded and private, a dead end road that many locals don't know it exists even though it's so close to town. I am friends with many of my neighbors and feel incredibly safe here.
You are very close to Hwy 101 which runs North & South, Hwy 12 that runs East & West, and within walking distance to downtown Santa Rosa. Santa Rosa has Lyft & Uber services as well as public transportation and traditional taxi cabs. There is little wait for taxi services and there is a bus stop a block from my house and the main bus terminal is a 20 minute walk. You can easily find wine tour info, many of the tour busses pick up at the Hyatt which is a 10 minute walk from here.
THE DOG: The most important rule is do not let my dog out any side gates in the back yard! She is very excited and friendly and will run up to the gate when you arrive, you must enter rather quickly so she doesn’t slip out! Her name is Olive.
THE CAT: She can go in or out as she pleases. Her name is Jewell.
NOISE: Please be respectful of other guests, myself, and our neighbors and keep it down after 10:00 PM and before 9:00 AM. Be especially aware of how much noise you make in the driveway since the 2 guest rooms inside the main house are right on the driveway.
Great location for our visit to Sonoma county. Would definitely recommend it to others & reserve it again when we return! Thank you for a soft place to land each night & amenities to make a three night stay so home-like!
I love this poolside retreat. The place has great charm and comfort with an eclectic mix furnishings, art and amenities from different eras. Justine is friendly and responsive, and everything is dialed to the right setting. The neighborhood is older and very close to downtown. I always enjoy this gem.
Justine was out of town the weekend we stayed at her pool house, but she let me know through multiple text messages before we arrived that all I had to do was message her and she would either help me out or let her house sitter know to help me out.
Through a lucky happenstance, it turned out that some of our friends in town for the same wedding had the front house, so it was a very fun weekend at Justine's house. The housesitter, Mariposa, did not make us feel like we were intruding at all and took care of the dog, Olive, so that we didn't have to worry at all about her. Speaking of the dog, she is amazing! She sat with us while we ate lunch on the amazing back patio and didn't beg once, and then fell asleep next to my two year old daughter while they were cuddling. The studio was pretty hot during the day and at night, but once we figured out that leaving the doors open in the evening cooled it off a lot the second night was much better. There were towels and hats for us to use at the pool, and everything was just as described. We would definitely stay here again!
Justine was fantastic and very accommodating! We enjoyed our 3 night stay very much and would easily spend time here again! The studio is charming, well-appointed and very clean. One can tell that Justine has put much effort into creating a space that celebrates the past and also offers all the amenities guests need to relax and feel at home. The backyard is also wonderful with green space everywhere, a pool and lots of fun little nooks. We highly recommend this quiet and very peaceful oasis. Thank you, Justine!
Justine's studio was perfect for the weekend! It was spacious, homey and just like the pictures. We were able to cook breakfast and make coffee at the house every morning before heading out for the day. The space is also very private and the backyard is beautiful.
Sweet poolside studio was a great base to explore Sonoma county. Santa Rosa itself has a lovely square in the downtown area with some nice shops and restaurants. From Santa Rosa, we were 15 mins or so from many wineries, lovely towns to explore, hiking trails and shopping.
We didn't see Justine but the studio was true to description with all the necessities, linens, coffee/tea, brochures and many recommendations from Justine both local and further afield. The grounds are lovely with fruit trees, pretty gardens, nice places to sit and relax and of course the pool.
