The Space

This very spacious room has a vaulted ceiling and features an oversized plush-top queen-size bed and paintings from Maui. There is also an available folding futon on request if needed for a third guest at no additional charge.

Guest Access

In your room you will have a desk, where you can access our secured wifi network for the internet (code to access will be provided when you arrive). You will also have a dresser as well as a closet available to you to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Unlike many other room rentals in shared spaces, there is a shower/tub and dual sinks in the full bathroom that is accessed only within the bedroom for complete privacy.

We have NetFlix and hundreds of DVDs to choose from, or you can link up a Playstation or a Wii if traveling with children. You are also welcome to use the keyboard and guitars that are in the livingroom.

Guests are also welcome to access the kitchen for all cooking equipment, spices and condiments you need during your stay. There are also plenty of great local restaurants within walking distance, or a short drive away, if you prefer to eat out. You will be provided (email hidden) book that will have maps, restaurant menus and other items to make finding what you are looking for easy.

We do have 2 very friendly kitties who may join you if you are in the living room, but will not be found upstairs in the bedrooms. If you are traveling with furry four-legged persons, some small pets may be considered for an additional cost of $25/pet (one time per visit, not per night). Please contact me for details/restrictions.

Interaction with Guests

There are no extra fees for cleaning or security deposit, those are just silly.

I am usually available to help as needed during your stay, but I also try to provide the privacy and freedom to move about the house to make it feel as much like your own home as possible. I am familiar with many of the local trails and restaurants, should you want more info about Southern Marin.

Feel free to contact me for any additional information so that I can help make your stay a memorable one.

The Neighborhood

We are in the small township of Marin City, just 2 miles to downtown Sausalito, 4 miles to Downtown Mill Valley, Tennessee Valley Trails or the Golden Gate Bridge, and less than 7 miles to Muir Woods or Downtown Tiburon.

Getting around

Enjoy the convenience of being just a few blocks from HWY 101, and just about a mile from the Marin Airporter pick-up & drop-off, which can take you to and from SFO. If I know in advance about your arrival/departure times, I can usually provide transportation to and from the airporter for an additional $7 fee each way. We are also just 2 blocks from public transportation that can take you South to San Francisco or North to Mill Valley, San Rafael & more.

If you are visiting the Bay Area from out of state, be sure to visit Wine Country while you are here, it is just an hour's drive north.

  • Staying with Keiko was a perfect stop on my road trip. She was a gracious and warm host with a beautiful space to relax and rest for the night. Ideally located along the 101. I would definitely stay there again!

  • We enjoyed our stay at Keiko's. The room is private and quiet. Bathroom was clean and had a sink outside the main bathroom and another in the (email hidden)e wi-fi worked well. Neighborhood consists of town homes and apartments but was very quiet. Great location in Sausalito. We took a 30 minute ferry ride into San Francisco which was very convenient and fun.

  • Lovely place, quiet and very private. Although we didn't meet Keiko in person she was extremely helpful, accommodating and always fast with a reply. Highly recommended!

  • It has been an absolute joy interacting with Keiko through the process - she was very responsive, cooperative, accommodating and very friendly. I wish every host were like her:))

  • An extremely positive and wonderful experience. The location is easy to find, central to the town of Sausalito and the freeway system, and delightfully quiet. The room is comfortable with a refreshing Hawaiian influence. If you cannot find anything to do, there is a great selection of books on a variety of topics - you should be able to find something of interest. The private bath is attractive and everything you need is provided.

But saving the best part for last, Keiko is a wonderful host. She makes you feel like family. Her responses are quick both in the initial reservation request, and in directions and assistance while one is there. I will definitely try to stay with Keiko the next time I am in Marin County.

  • I had a wonderful stay with Keiko! Key hand-off was smooth, the room was comfortable, and the bed was SUPER comfortable. The neighborhood is just outside downtown Sausalito and well-located for some *amazing* hikes. Keiko was very welcoming, and I felt at home staying in her place. Thanks, Keiko!

  • Staying with Keiko was delightful. She is a warm, gracious, easy-going host. Her place is super comfortable: cheery, quiet and peaceful. It was just the break we needed after an excursion in northern California. We would definitely recommend Keiko's hospitality and home to anyone -- and would gladly stay there again!

  • My companion and I had a wonderful time staying with Keiko. Leading up to our stay, Keiko was very communicative and supportive in sorting out details, and the room itself was spacious, clean, and in a quiet neighborhood. Keiko very generously offered entertainment and access to the kitchen area, and she was a gracious host. Thank you, Keiko!

About
I am an easy-going California native, and spend my extra time in my vegetable garden, crocheting or reading. I have lived in Marin for over 20 years and know many great local restaurants as well as walking paths & trails. As a host, I always put my guests first, and they are welcome to use anything in the kitchen to cook with, or to help feel at home. I enjoy having conversations with guests so I can learn about other fantastic places, furthering my curiosity to explore new cities and countries in my own travels. When I travel, it is often with my best friend or my two children. My favorite places to go are places off the beaten path and love it when I discover a wonderful new mom-and-pop restaurant or two on my trips. My ambition is to one day see every state and visit as many countries as possible in my lifetime, and share it with others through photography. Hoping Airbnb can help to be my vehicle for making this possible. ~*~Some of the funds I receive from my Airbnb listings are being used to save toward my family's next compassion project or trip. Last year we helped to build a school out of recycled plastic bottles in Guatemala! :) ~*~ I work to promote compassion, and am using Airbnb to help me to help others. I appreciate you staying with us, and supporting our efforts. Happy and safe travels fellow sojourners.
