About this listing
ENJOY SAUSALITO, MILL VALLEY & SF!
Free and easy parking in my driveway! Less traffic, more fun. :)
Private room with a private bath within walking distance to restaurants & hiking/biking trails.
This very spacious room has a vaulted ceiling and features an oversized plush-top queen-size bed and paintings from Maui. There is also an available folding futon on request if needed for a third guest at no additional charge.
Guests will have a space available to park in my driveway. In your room you will have a desk, where you can access our secured wifi network for the internet (code to access will be provided when you arrive). You will also have a dresser as well as a closet available to you to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Unlike many other room rentals in shared spaces, there is a shower/tub and dual sinks in the full bathroom that is accessed only within the bedroom for complete privacy.
We have NetFlix and hundreds of DVDs to choose from, or you can link up a Playstation or a Wii if traveling with children. You are also welcome to use the keyboard and guitars that are in the livingroom.
Guests are also welcome to access the kitchen for all cooking equipment, spices and condiments you need during your stay. There are also plenty of great local restaurants within walking distance, or a short drive away, if you prefer to eat out. You will be provided with a welcome guide book that will have maps, restaurant menus and other items to make finding what you are looking for easy.
We do have 2 very friendly kitties who may join you if you are in the living room, but do not go in the bedroom upstairs.
Interaction with Guests
There are no extra fees for cleaning or security deposit, those are just silly.
I am usually available to help as needed during your stay, but I also try to provide the privacy and freedom to move about the house to make it feel as much like your own home as possible. I am familiar with many of the local trails and restaurants, should you want more info about Southern Marin.
Feel free to contact me for any additional information so that I can help make your stay a memorable one.
We are in the small township of Marin City, just 2 miles to downtown Sausalito, 4 miles to Downtown Mill Valley, Tennessee Valley Trails or the Golden Gate Bridge, and less than 7 miles to Muir Woods or Downtown Tiburon.
Enjoy the convenience of being close enough to enjoy the best of Marin, Sonoma and San Francisco without as much traffic and congestion that can spoil the fun. We are just a few blocks from HWY 101, and just about a mile from the Marin Airporter pick-up & drop-off, which can take you to and from SFO. We are also just 2 blocks from public transportation that can take you South to San Francisco or North to Mill Valley, San Rafael & more.
If you are visiting the Bay Area from out of state, be sure to visit Wine Country while you are here, it is just an hour's drive north.
Other Things to Note
I am pretty flexible with arrival and departure times, but it is helpful to know what time you plan to arrive/depart so that I can arrange to greet you.
We booked a two night stay with Keiko and what a great decision that turned out to be. The bed was super comfortable and the room was neat, clean and nicely decorated with a cute Hawaiian theme. The private bathroom was especially nice as there are two sinks, one outside of the bath area and one in. If all that weren't enough Keiko was a fantastic host and made us feel right at home. She also provided a book full of information on San Francisco sites, travel, and restaurants in the Sausalito area. Keiko allowed us to park in her driveway which is really convenient. Her neighborhood is safe and quiet so you will have no concerns in that regard. We would stay with Keiko again and again.
Keiko's home is warm and welcoming and she is a delightful host. The room is large, bright and private. A large tree outside blocks neighbors from view. Keiko provides shower items such as shampoo and conditioner as well as a huge binder filled with great tourist information. The bed was very comfortable and the house was quiet. I enjoyed my conversations with Keiko and only regretted not being able to say goodbye when I left.
Keiko was a fantastic host! She made us feel most welcome, and her family is so sweet. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Keiko was so helpful in directing us to some wonderful hikes on the beach, and to an amazing restaurant .
Tres bon rapport qualite/prix
Nice place to stay! Keiko and her familie are wunderful People ! Keiko is very friendly and easy going. Thanks for letting us stay at your home!
Keiko was wonderful, and very prompt at responding to e-mail. She made us feel very comfortable, and although we only stayed for one night I could tell this would be a great place to stay longer. The room was very clean and she even had a binder with lots of suggestions of places to eat and things to do. Would have liked to do the hike to the Golden Gate bridge, but alas, there is never enough time! Her breakfast recommendation for our trip home was spot on. :)
Keiko was extremely gracious upon our arrival. Most notably she had prepared a 3 ring binder with menus from most of the local restaurants and activities in the bay area. We found this very useful.
The room was large and comfortable with a private bathroom directly off the room. Everything was neat, clean and as pictured on the listing.
The availability of parking in the driveway is a huge plus. The proximity to Sausalito, the Golden Gate Headlands and the city make this a great choice.

About the Host, Keiko
I am an easy-going California native, and spend my extra time in my vegetable garden, crocheting or reading. I have lived in Marin for over 20 years and know many great local restaurants as well as walking paths & trails.
As a host, I always put my guests first, and they are welcome to use anything in the kitchen to cook with, or to help feel at home. I enjoy having conversations with guests so I can learn about other fantastic places, furthering my curiosity to explore new cities and countries in my own travels.
Travel is near and dear to my heart, and I believe it is one of the greatest educations one can partake in. When I travel, it is often with my best friend or my two children. My favorite places to go are places off the beaten path and love it when I discover a wonderful new mom-and-pop restaurant or two on my trips. My ambition is to one day see every state and visit as many countries as possible in my lifetime, and share it with others through photography. Hoping Airbnb can help to be my vehicle for making this possible.
~*~Some of the funds I receive from my Airbnb listings are being used to save toward my family's next compassion project or trip. Last year we helped to build a school out of recycled plastic bottles in Guatemala! :) ~*~
I work to promote compassion, and am using Airbnb to help me to help others. I appreciate you staying with us, and supporting our efforts. Happy and safe travels fellow sojourners.
