1. BREAKFAST: We kindly offer 1 welcome breakfast for the first morning, but there was a missunderstanding and this family thought it was daily breakfast. When they emailed me complaining about it, I offered to provide it for the remaining 3 days, they said NO and asked me to pay it to them instead.
2. DANGEROUS? If you leave a CANDLE lighted and unattended ALL NIGHT ..... anywhere in the world.... you risk to provoque a fire, and this is what this family did. They did not check the candle they lighted and it burned on fire furniture, the floor and almost the rest of the house. Fortunately, our caretaker lives in the property for assistance and heard some noise at 4 am and could come with the extinguisher and stop the fire. Damages are up to US$1.000
3. DAMAGE DEPOSIT: we kindly request our guests to leave a US$200 damage deposit during the time of their stay, we clearly inform it by the reservation conversation, we give them a receipt, and it is released when our guests check out after our caretaker confirms no major damages are done.
The damages caused by this family were up to $1.000, we informed them we were going to hold the $200, despite the cost of what they did. I explained them that we understood it was an accident, but it was clearly their responsibility.
4. LAUNDRY SERVICE UNPAID: Hila forgot to write that she asked the housekeeper to do 5 loads of whashing and drying clothes and shoes. She was informed there was a cost of $15 per load to cover the time of the housekeeper, the eco soap used and the electricity. But once again, they refused to pay for it, the damage deposit had to cover it.
We do not see it as a matter of money....we see it as a matter of MORAL VALUES...and we do not want guests with values like the ones HILA ARJUAN and family seem to have.
Thank you for understanding.
