Solid fuel central heating. immersion heater, washing maching, small fridge freezer, shower and bathroom, all beds/mattress are NEW downstairs. Radio (there is no TV) - there is NO INTERNET ACCESS. There is bedding and towels which guests are welcome to borrow, but they are not new (they are clean!)
Heat is traditional solid fuel peat (located in the back yard) dug from local bog. There is coal as well.
You need a car in this part of the country - it is very rural and too far to walk to the local village although you can cycle (using one of the bikes in the shed however I cannot guarantee that they won't have a flat tyre!)
Close to one of the best pubs in Ireland in Ballylongford! 5 minute drive away.
The closest towns are Listowel and Ballybunion which has a STUNNING beach and brilliant golf course. The Cliffs of Moher are an hour's drive but a sight worth visiting. Dingle is a 45 minute drive and the Ring of Kerry is a 30 minute drive. We are close to Tarbert from where you can catch a ferry to County Clare.
Airports: Shannon (1 hour drive) or Kerry Faranfore (45 mins) you will need to hire a car unless you drive & ferry it. The drive from Dublin is around 3 hours.
Interaction with Guests
My neighbour will come in every day and let you in and keep an eye out. She will need to teach you to use the stove & oven.
This is a very rural location and there is one neighbour. The other neighbours are trees and cows.
There is very little public transport so you need to drive or cycle.
