A tranquil eco friendly garden apartment perfect for a relaxing holiday in the heart of Bondi Beach. Nestled in the leafy quiet end of Hall Street, this private apartment has been renovated based upon eco-design principles.
The "Hello Yello" apartment (named for the splashes of vibrant yellow – my favourite colour – incorporated into the decore) features natural finishes throughout, polished wooden floors and mid-century modern furniture. Designer lights interplay with re-purposed objects (such as a 70s airline trolley pantry) adding to the character and sense of consideration that permeates the apartment.
The Yellow has a large master bedroom with a comfy double bed and a living area that opens via french doors to a court-yard featuring ferns, other ornamentals and a tiered vegetable garden. Pick some herbs or salad ingredients on your way in - or enjoy a relaxing breakfast in the dappled sunlight reading the paper and breathing in the smell of the garden while dining on fresh organic eggs from our hens out back.
Bondi only 5 minutes away!
Venturing out to Bondi's buzzing cafes and small bars takes all of a couple of minutes and the beach is only a further 5 minutes away. After the beach grab your racquet and enjoy a game of tennis at the private courts adjoining the property, or stroll across a block and catch the bus service into the city.
It's tranquility with convenience, and all done with the planet and your well-being in mind.
You will have access to our rear sun deck and meditation deck by the pond and waterfall as well as the apartment.
A private apartment though we're here to help if you need it.

David and his crew are extremely helpful and were always a text or email away for anything I needed. I enjoyed the delicious, healthy breakfast on hand, which included fresh/local eggs, bread, honey, muesli, milk, and butter. It made for the perfect wake-me-up during my stay.
Overall, though, I was saddened by the lack of light in the apartment. The photos are brilliant, but the experience is a bit more basement-like, as the apartment sits below sidewalk-level. Since my key purpose for the trip was to spend time on the beach and in the sun, I was just a bit disappointed that the apartment lacks light, compared to other options in the area, especially at the price. Furthermore, I didn't realize originally that the chicken coop area with the hammock, as well as all outdoor seating, is shared. I was hoping to get some quality me-time, but didn't really utilize the outside spaces, since they were shared between multiple other units. I know, that sounds anti-social, hehe. But just wanted to put it out there, that it wasn't what I was expecting or looking for. So, I was a bit surprised.
In the end, though, hanging out with some hens in a suburban Bondi setting was a great experience that I'm glad I was a part of. I wouldn't stay there in the future, since I prefer to have a better lit apartment, closer to the action. But if this review sounds totally picky to you, it may still be the place for you!!
Lovely. Really handy and David was very helpful.
A very friendly welcome to well equipped apartment. Fresh eggs in the morning from resident chickens!
Very handy for the beach and our dawn concert experience.
Dave runs a great place in Bondi. He has created a great community feel at the house - with the chooks providing eggs, the garden salad options and the bees honey - it all felt like a farmstay, close to great cafe's and the beach.
Dave was attentive and understanding with any request we had and went way out of his way to accommodate our needs, like, we felt there wasn't enough natural light in the room, so organised to rip out a 6ft hole in the wall and put in an extra window. Done. Handled.
He understands the service ethic and does it brilliantly. Great location, great space, stay here, it rocks.
Dave was a fantastic host and I absolutely loved staying at the Eco Garden. Located on charming Hall St, it's quiet but still close enough to all the action on Bondi. Dave went way out of his way to accommodate me - even upgrading me to the Red apartment after a scheduling snafu that was frankly my mistake. Fresh eggs every morning and a lovely guide to Sydney upon arrival made me feel right at home. The decor was inspiring - if you're interested in green design, be sure to ask about the home remodeling. It's fascinating. Thanks Dave!
Ps - be sure to enjoy your morning coffee in the garden, such a treat.
We LOVED staying here! And would definitely stay here again. The apartment
is very clean and comfortable and Dave provided everything we needed for us
to feel like this was our home away from home. We had a lots of room for
the 3 of us (Dave set up a very comfortable sleeping space for our son in
the bedroom) and we all slept very well right from the start. The bedroom
is quiet and the bed was very comfortable with nice new clean sheets and
bedding. The front french doors opens up to a cute little patio overlooking
the front veggie garden. It's very secure and we felt very comfortable
letting our little boy wander in and out of the house ( the house itself sits
down from the road which provided a nice buffer from the street). We also
spent lots of time in the back garden where Dave keeps his lovely and very
tame chickens. We had fresh eggs almost everyday - plus our son loved
finding them! The location was great and we felt we had a lot of privacy
but still maintained easy access to the beach and cafe's.
Dave was truly an amazing host and we have learned so much about how to
live in a more sustainable way even in the middle of the city. He
accommodated our little family very well and even provided beach toys for
our little boy. Our son grew extremely fond of Dave as did we. He treats
everyone, including our 4 year old son, with kindness and respect, often
answering endless questions about gardening, building, and chickens (which
was a great source of interest for our son). Dave has created a beautiful
oasis in the middle of the city and I would highly recommend Dave's
ecohouse to anyone from families to single travelers. Dave made our stay in
Bondi Beach very special. Thank you Dave for taking such good care of us
and making us feel like part of the family. We will miss you!
We stayed here from 18th December to 12th January. It was a really pleasant stay. The space is fuss-free, comfortable, airy and simple. All the things we love and perfect for 2 people.
Little details made it magic. Dave was a great host and seems to be in tune with what the guests would need and enjoy. He complements simplicity with care, colour and warmth.
Our international neighbours added life to this communal living experience and we flourished in each other's company. Even cooking can be enhanced by using the herbs growing in the shared garden and nothing goes to waste unless you really want it to.
We felt very safe here and had no problems with security. The location is perfect, close enough to the beach and far enough from the noise. We strongly recommend staying here!
This was an amazing beachside apartment. Furnished beautifully with the environment in mind, it has everything you need including robes! It is only a few minutes walk to the beach and loads of great cafes and bars which was awesome. Dave is a great host and lovely guy who looked after me really well. Highly recommended. I will definitely stay again when I'm back in Sydney.
