Just 5 minutes from Texas Tech University, South Plains Mall, Lubbock Christian University and most restaurants, this quiet ranch house has the feel of country living while only minutes away from Lubbock's most popular destinations. Situated just across from a playa lake, evening walks along the water and fishing may be enjoyed by those interested.
The home was built in 1963 as one of the first maternity homes built in the USA for unwed teenage moms. I have renewed the home as a temporary resting place for missionaries as they travel between home and their mission point. Anytime I have rooms available, I like to open my home to any guests in need of a roomy, comfortable and safe place to stay.
Spacious ranch-house with five - 16'x18' bedroom suites with full private baths. Quiet home convenient to everything . Just blocks from two main highways, the wide-open spaces and small lake across the street offers the feel of country living.
This large house allows for family style dining, walks around the lake, drinking coffee on the largeback porch or simply finding a secluded space for quality alone time. If you prefer community, feel free to gather in the living room or enjoy snacks around the table which seats 14.

My schedule is very random and I will be in and out so much of the time u may have the house to yourself.
The neighborhood is quiet and has a nice somewhat secluded feel to it with lots of wide open spaces. Just across the street glistens a blue pond stocked with fish and ready for you to enjoy. Whether you like fishing, walking, jogging or just gazing into the sparkling water, make yourself at home in the natural surroundings.
We are not on the city bus route, but the nearest bus stop is about 1/2 mile away. Taxi service is available.
The entire house has been completely re-floored with new carpet and tile as of 7/14/14. The walls are colored with fresh paint and everything feels and smells new.
Come in and make yourself at home. There is cold & hot purified water for coffee, tea, cider or hot chocolate just in the doorway of the laundry room. Cream 'n sugar is on the counter.

We loved our stay. Terrific suite. Great price. Wonderful host. Short or long term it is perfect.
The location, accommodations and price were commensurate. Room was clean, quiet and spacious. Your best option in Lubbock, TX.
Had a great time in Lubbock staying with Shawn Daniel. The house is the first one I have stayed in that was exactly what I expected it to be. Having access to the kitchen was wonderful. Shawn was very hospitable. He was available and friendly but not hovering or pushy and I really enjoyed feeling at home.
The bed was comfortable, the bathroom while a bit dated, was very nice and spacious. The rooms are huge. The fresh eggs, a space in the fridge and freezer for each guest and a comfy couch in the living room were great touches. It isn't a new house, it feels like a home not a hotel, so expect some of the things you would have in a home, you can hear others at times and the a/c - heater is not silent but not obnoxiously loud. Over all: A perfect stay for my needs and I will stay again if possible.
I had a good stay here in a place that is a little different from the usual airbnb. This place was obviously constructed to accommodate multiple long term guests, and I'm guessing it was built to serve a social program purpose related to the nearby church. At any rate, the rooms are exceptionally large and each has it's own bathroom. Everything is clean and well kept and the common areas almost have the feel of a summer camp arrangement. The location is what you might call a blue collar neighborhood, with some streets unpaved, but I never had any sense of discomfort or concern. The room I stayed in (number 2) had the emergency exit located in it right next to the bed, just FYI. Also, if you are sensitive to light at night I wouldn't recommend #2 because the EXIT sign overhead emits some significant light.
During my stay I didn't see any other guests or have much interaction with Shawn, but maybe it was just a quiet period. At any rate, this venue will definitely allow you some quite time if that is what you want. (Some airbnbers that I talk to say the sense of community as the main reason they like it.)
Shawn was very helpful in working with my schedule and making sure I had everything I needed! Would recommend!
The house and room were wonderful and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay while in town for a game. Shawn was very welcoming and we felt very comfortable. The house was awesome and in a great location. Shawn had coffee every morning and plenty of breakfast options; he even made us frittatas on game day! The house is set up more like a hotel, you have a room number and cabinets in the kitchen are labeled so you know where to find what you need. I definitely recommend Shawn's house for your stay in Lubbock!
Shawn's place is a perfect Airbnb setup and Shawn is an amazing host. He made my wife and I feel right at home during our stay. The commons area has all the food and entertainment you would ever need. The best part was the frittata and bacon breakfast Shawn made for us the morning of the Texas v. Texas Tech football game. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
