I will be away for the month of Febuary and would like to rent my room for this period.
The house has all mod cons and you would be sharing house with one other.
It is a spacious room with a double bed beside bathroom.
The house is located very close to the town centre in a historic part of Kilkenny.
There is internet service in the house
We had a wonderful stay with Brigid! I recommend giving yourself plenty of time to find her place while there is daylight, as I missed her turn into the valley because it wasn't easy to spot in the dark! Well worth the extra detour though! Brigid welcomed us with tea and apple crumble (amazing!) and for a very reasonable price she made us an enormous breakfast with homemade banana bread on top of everything else. I loved the bread so much that she was sweet enough to pack some up for me to take on the road, which was above and beyond! It was so nice hearing about her lifestyle on the sheep farm and how her family has been there for 8 generations. I even got to go visit her flock and feed her new lamb- the highlight of my morning (besides that banana bread of course!). Brigid was great company, very accommodating, and made us feel right at home in such a beautiful setting.
Brigid welcomed us very kindly with an excellent Appfelstrudel ! Brigid well advised us to see traditional music in a great pub. Her sheeps are lovely and the place is pretty nice. Thank you for your welcoming !
My experience at Brigids was exactly what I hoped for! History, culture, serene and beautiful landscapes at your doorstep, and the adorable shops, delicious cafes, and seaside activities of Dingle are just a short bus ride away.
This is a very special place...explore a fairy ring and taste water from the Well of the Mad if you wish :) Not only does Brigid know interesting historical facts, but she is a part of the place, brought up to respect and value it like the previous generations of her family. This doesn't just make for charming stories, but presents you with a genuine learning experience, if you are interested.
On the other hand, I'd recommend Brigid's for travellers craving an active holiday also. I would love to return with more time over the summer and hike, and I'm sure cycling here would be a dream for those with better knees...
Oh, and do try the breakfast...really if Brigid offers you anything to eat, accept it! She is a wonderful cook, and her banana bread lives up to its airbnb reputation. :)
Five stars, highly recommended, especially for anyone who hopes to describe their vacation with words like 'quiet' and 'tranquil'. :) I really do love this place. Thank you, Brigid!
Amazing hostess who did everything in her power to make sure we felt right at home! She greeting us our first evening with homemade cobbler and tea. When that Irish weather creeped up into our holiday, she lent us rainproof jumpers and boots so we could still go visit the sheep one morning (and made sure we could use a dryer for our clothes once we returned as well). Her breakfast was delicious, and worth the addition to your booking. Always willing to answer your questions with a smile, and so sweet to chat with. The room was basic, but clean and very comfortable. A true testament to Irish Hospitality!
The reservation was canceled 38 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We had a wonderful time at Brigid's place!! She is a lovely host. She lives in a beautiful area and it was fun to meet her sheeps.
The breakfast was very good especially the home made banana bread ;)
Thanks Brigid!! Take care,
Stephanie and nicolas
I had the most wonderful two day experience with (email hidden) nGealt Sheep Farm.
I believe that Ireland is found with the village of Camp Ireland. Not only were the views brilliant, but the village was as quaint as you would want to see while on a vacation in Europe.
Brigid went above and beyond what would be expected in a B&B visit, to a point that I, a writer, am at a loss for words to describe Brigid and her B&B.
I will say, if you are going to Ireland, you should go to Camp, and you should definitely experience the Gleann na nGealt Sheep Farm. I have a friend forever in Brigid!!!!
OH and.....you haven't had breakfast until Brigid serves you one!!!!
Our favorite place and person in Ireland. If you are looking for an authentic Irish stay with the sweetest and kindest host look no further. Brigid welcomes you with homemade deserts and Irish hospitality. Her house may not be the Ritz Carlton but your stay will be so much more rewarding then any chain hotel. Brigid had great views on life and we shared many great conversations over tea in her living room. I highly suggest paying the 5 euros for breakfast better than any other we had during our stay in Ireland. The bed is very comfy! Our favorite part was after breakfast Brigid took us to meet her sheep. She is such a kind spirit and her animals adore her. Dingle is gorgeous and we only wish we stayed longer. Look no further stay here for the experience of a life time! Brigid thank you again for the custard and apple crumble recipe I made it and turned out delicious!
It has been for us a very nice stay. Brigid was very pleasant and
gave us a lot of informations. She was an ideal host, we like to
recommend her a lot. Especially the irish breakfast was great.
Brigid was a very lovely host! We had a great time on her sheep farm. She is a super friendly/caring lady. We spend one night with her and during our stay she filled us in on the farming situation in Ireland and all about sheeps. I loved meeting her sheep dog (the sheep pet) Pedro! She took us on a hike up the mountains and we got to feed her sheep. She also cooks a mean Irish breakfast! The view from the room you get to stay in is a lovely view of the mountains and the sheep roaming around. There is a great pub not too far from her place called Ashes pub which is a must do. Overall a great experience! Thanks Brigid :)
