I will be away for the month of Febuary and would like to rent my room for this period.
The house has all mod cons and you would be sharing house with one other.
It is a spacious room with a double bed beside bathroom.
The house is located very close to the town centre in a historic part of Kilkenny.
There is internet service in the house
What a lovely person Brigid is. She was so welcoming that I thought I'd known her my whole life. The house is lovely and in a very quiet spot, the bed super comfortable. Thank you Brigid for having me!
Authentic and great experience. Brigid is a great tour guide and is amazingly sweet. She greeted my mother and I warmly and engaged us in extremely pleasant conversation. Brigid has a very cool farm full of sheep and even archaeological sites! We enjoyed our stay.
Brigid and Liam were lovely hosts, kind funny and lovely to talk to. It was great hearing about Irish life and hearing their stories and (website hidden)! The location is beautiful with nice pubs handily placed nearby :) their home is warm and comfortable, a home away from home...we had a great sleep! Lots of lovely food and they even helped us plan our trip and gave us tips on routes and places to stay! I thoroughly recommend them as hosts! I hope the lambs continue to thrive! X
What to say ? IT was exactly what we were looking for: an authentic experience. You wake up with the sheeps next to the house, in a wonderful landscape. Brigid is so nice and interesting, and in her home we had the BEST Irish breakfast (I tried a lot of it during the trip, but it was far the best one !). ANd she knows and can advise you were to have a really good diner around as well !
I really recommend her !!!
We had a wonderful stay with Brigid! I recommend giving yourself plenty of time to find her place while there is daylight, as I missed her turn into the valley because it wasn't easy to spot in the dark! Well worth the extra detour though! Brigid welcomed us with tea and apple crumble (amazing!) and for a very reasonable price she made us an enormous breakfast with homemade banana bread on top of everything else. I loved the bread so much that she was sweet enough to pack some up for me to take on the road, which was above and beyond! It was so nice hearing about her lifestyle on the sheep farm and how her family has been there for 8 generations. I even got to go visit her flock and feed her new lamb- the highlight of my morning (besides that banana bread of course!). Brigid was great company, very accommodating, and made us feel right at home in such a beautiful setting.
Brigid welcomed us very kindly with an excellent Appfelstrudel ! Brigid well advised us to see traditional music in a great pub. Her sheeps are lovely and the place is pretty nice. Thank you for your welcoming !
My experience at Brigids was exactly what I hoped for! History, culture, serene and beautiful landscapes at your doorstep, and the adorable shops, delicious cafes, and seaside activities of Dingle are just a short bus ride away.
This is a very special place...explore a fairy ring and taste water from the Well of the Mad if you wish :) Not only does Brigid know interesting historical facts, but she is a part of the place, brought up to respect and value it like the previous generations of her family. This doesn't just make for charming stories, but presents you with a genuine learning experience, if you are interested.
On the other hand, I'd recommend Brigid's for travellers craving an active holiday also. I would love to return with more time over the summer and hike, and I'm sure cycling here would be a dream for those with better knees...
Oh, and do try the breakfast...really if Brigid offers you anything to eat, accept it! She is a wonderful cook, and her banana bread lives up to its airbnb reputation. :)
Five stars, highly recommended, especially for anyone who hopes to describe their vacation with words like 'quiet' and 'tranquil'. :) I really do love this place. Thank you, Brigid!
Amazing hostess who did everything in her power to make sure we felt right at home! She greeting us our first evening with homemade cobbler and tea. When that Irish weather creeped up into our holiday, she lent us rainproof jumpers and boots so we could still go visit the sheep one morning (and made sure we could use a dryer for our clothes once we returned as well). Her breakfast was delicious, and worth the addition to your booking. Always willing to answer your questions with a smile, and so sweet to chat with. The room was basic, but clean and very comfortable. A true testament to Irish Hospitality!

We had a wonderful time at Brigid's place!! She is a lovely host. She lives in a beautiful area and it was fun to meet her sheeps.
The breakfast was very good especially the home made banana bread ;)
Thanks Brigid!! Take care,
