Interaction with Guests
I love to meet and learn things from everyone. I love intelligent, open minded discussion. If our schedules allow interaction, great! If not that's fine too.
Old school quiet suburbia, big trees, very safe, older retired people, younger families and lots of dogs.
Bus is 6 blocks away, located on Nicholasville Road. I'm always happy to give a ride or pick up and drop off at airport when I'm available.
Other Things to Note
My partner is a raw Paleo guy. Yup, raw meat. It doesn't bother me although I lean toward a vegan diet. He does it for health reasons. We both believe processed foods are not the best thing.
If you're friendly, a good communicator and open minded we should get along fine. I ask that you be considerate and not leave lights on or fan running in your room when you are not here.
Joann has a lovely house filled with fresh and funky decorating and some loving pets. She is very inviting and made me feel both as an honoured guest and a part of the family.
JoAnn is very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. Overall I think it's a wonderful experiences staying in here.
JoAnn made me feel very welcome! She was very flexible with my changing eta, helped me find places to eat, drove me to the wedding I was attending, and shared her wealth in knowledge through great conversation. The listing description was spot on and the neighborhood was extremely safe. Great host and great location!
Staying with JoAnn was simple and pleasant. She was there to greet me and welcome me to the Lexington area, and was always willing to offer a helping hand or a piece of helpful advice if I had any questions. If you're looking for an "at home" feel, I highly recommend spending your nights here.
Simple place with a great backyard and wonderful hosts. Simple 10 min drive to the center of downtown.
This was my second stay with Joanne and Derek. I love being around them and in their space! They have created a an amazing garden/greenhouse/art studio behind their home and expanded their BnB to the basement. Joanne is an amazing artist and Derek is able to build just about anything as far as i can tell. They are quite a team and also are tolerant and generous. I can't recommend them more!
JoAnn and Derek were so wonderful. JoAnn answered my calls when I called on the road to let her I was running late and was very flexible. When plans fell through with a friend for dinner, JoAnn and I decided to get a bite together. We talked the whole time and it felt like we'd been friends for a while! After she and Derek and I talked for a while and if I didn't have to get up early the next day I would have stayed and chatted more. The house was very clean and full of neat art. They gave me a tour of their garden as well. They've got a great little urban homestead! I hope to see these two again and I would highly recommend them as hosts or guests.
