My Mum, uncle and I spent three nights in Antonio's fantastic apartment and had a great time! It is a lovely place with everything you need and the location is perfect. Antonio was very easy to get in touch with and made sure we had everything we needed - the perfect host! I would definitely stay here again.
Antonio is a nice man.His apartment is very well located, near the Vatican, in a levily and pleasant street. However, the apartment did not have wifi, i need to learn about the city, the TV and the fridge was a little dirty. Apart from that nothing to say about the pretty and typical Italian decor.
Stepping into Antonio's apartment was like stepping into the heart of Rome. The decor is perfectly artistic and ramshackle in all the right places making you feel immediately part of your own Roman, Hemingway-esque novel.
The buzz of Borgo Pio floats up from the street, a mixture of restaurant chatter and accordion music whilst the frescoed ceiling and detailed floor tiles further remind you there is only one city in the world where you could be.
If you're a 'foody' don't bother with the restaurants on Borgo Pio, buy food from the deli and eat in or head to the south side of Trastevere, it's far more authentic and better value. Or just near Santa Maria in Trastevere we stumbled upon a great place called 'Augusto' on Piazza De Renzi - no frills, brilliant food.
There is a lovely patisserie on Borgo Pio where you can buy all sorts of delicious things for a truly italian calazione.
Antonio was great. The flat was very central... within minutes of Vatican City! There are several restaurants and shops near by too! We had everything we needed... Hair dryer, towels, linens, outlets, hot showers... We had the whole flat to ourselves! It was a delight! Antonio was very welcoming even though we showed up late. We had his contact information if we needed anything, but nothing came up. There was no wifi, but there are shops and restaurants nearby that have free wifi :). A great stay at a wonderful flat in Rome! Thank you Antonio!
