About this listing
My place is a traditional village house with a large garden and a modern interior, next to the small fishing port of the scenic village of Kolybari. It's spoted between Chania town, Balos, Phalassarna, Elafonisi and Palaiochora. Quiet, clien, perfect for relaxation, swimming, and taste traditional crete food.
We stayed for 5 nights, here the pros and cons:
- position: easy to reach, good for getting to the beautiful beaches of Falasarna and Elafonissi so as to Chania
- large yard: with a nice perfume from grapevine
- company: a family of 4 kittens and a mother cat. Super cute
- bathroom: as in picture
- not so clean: we found webs (corner of the bed, corners of the shower) and there were some insects coming from a stove pipe that comes from outside. The couch looked dusty.
- refrigerator: was off. it took us a while to understand why wasn't working and some time to have cold. Freezer has no door
- kitchen: no space to cook at all, only one mug, no pot for tea and few tools, no trash bin
The apartment is good for a short staying, it needs some fixing to become comfortable.
If someone wants to stay in a big appartment, with big refrigerator and huge freezer with big door, with plenty of space in the kitchen to cook with their friends and their personal chef, a cleaner every morning to clean the insects from the yard, and pay 220 euro for five nights, this is not the place for him. Its enought with the people that wants to pay 25 euro per night for a hole house with big yard and all the comforts plus swimming pool. Silvia next summer start to searching place from 250 euro per night and not 25euro/5 night.
We really loved our stay at dimitri's in Kolymbari. It's a small village 30 minutes by bus from Chania. We went to the beach every day and met wonderful locals.
The apartment was located at the end of the village. It had its own courtyard with an outdoor shower and washing station, and a nice shower and bathroom inside too. The kitchen was small but a good size and the ac worked very well. Everything was to our liking! I will definitely return to Kolymbari and dimitri's cottage.
The apartment was exactly as in the photos. I didn't have a chance to meet Dimitris, but the exchange of days was done without any problem. I would stay at his apartment next time!
We had a great time at Dimitris place.
The flat is even more beautiful than in the photos and the town of kolymbari offers everything you need for a vaccation.
Dimitris was a great host, he gave us tips on where to go for dinner and what we should definately see.
It was a great vaccation and we´re considering going back to this stunning place, I recommend it to everyone!
The accommodation is very pretty on the outside and it is nice to sit and have some wine under the grape vine. The location is also very strategically located for exploring western Crete. Dimitris is a very accommodating host and eager to help with anything you may need. It is definitely worth visiting his wine bar in Chania too. A couple of small things, as we were the first ppl there this season it was a little musty and damp in the room and there were quite a few insects as a result.
