Welcome to The Carrier’s Cottage, a 1933 English Tudor Revival home built for a local postman and his bride. Located a few blocks from Wing Park in a historic neighborhood, the house has been lovingly cared for, renovated, and furnished to be a comfortable retreat.

Cozy up by the gas burning fireplace, relax on the patio with a latte, or use the cottage as your home base to explore. The cottage is perfect for a wedding party, romantic getaway, traveling family, reunion, or business trip.

The space
The master bedroom (bedroom 1) has a king sized bed with a twin daybed in the “master nook.” The two first floor bedrooms (bedroom 2 and 3) each have a queen sized bed and every bedroom has a smart TV, ceiling fan, closet, and dresser.

The house is one mile from a Metra Train Station, 30 miles from O’Hare Airport, and has easy access to the highway. Less than a mile from the Fox River Bike Trail, downtown Elgin, Wing Park (community pool, golf course, tennis, basketball, and sand volleyball courts), local restaurants, coffee shops, and stores. Close and convenient to The Haight, The Brix on the Fox, The Q Center, Hemmens Cultural Center, Judson University, the NOW Arena, and local festivals.

Amenities include driveway and street parking, free high-speed Wi-Fi, washer-dryer, and a workspace. There are 3 window AC units (installed in May) along with ceiling fans in every bedroom and living space so guests can adjust the temperature easily to their liking. We are family friendly and can provide a high chair, pack n’ play and kids’ plates/cups. We know how hard (and fun) traveling with little kids can be. If you think you might need something, just ask.

We have you covered, with a fully equipped kitchen with everything that you need to make your trip taste like home: oven, microwave, fridge, Nespresso Virtuo coffee maker with an automatic milk steamer, electric kettle, standard drip coffee maker, and all the silverware, pots, pans, and plates you might need.
