We have a charming studio in the heart of Shoreditch surrounded by 2 large balconies.
The flat is 1 room but one side has been partitioned off to create a more private sleeping nook with clothing storage.
The flat runs the length of the building and has a 5 meter long balcony off each side.
The larger balcony towards the front is just off the living area and overlooks the heart of Shoreditch. There is a charcoal grill that you are welcome to use, a table with 2 chairs, and some plants that we bought at the nearby Columbia Flower Market (a really nice place to take a walk on Sundays).
The smaller balcony is off the sleeping area, and has a view of The Gherkin building in the distance, and there are also a couple of chairs there you can use (good for morning coffee).
The living area has a dining table, tv, record player, and amp that you can plug your ipod into, as well as our favorite rocking chair.
The bathroom has a good shower, and the kitchen is equipped with everything you would need to cook. There is also a washing machine.
Our flat is very centrally located and we love the area. Nearby Calvert Ave has the well-known Leila's cafe. On Charlotte Road there are some great boutiques for shopping such as Start and Edwin jeans. Redchurch street is just down the road and has more shopping such as APC, of course the Albion restaurant, and more great cafes, bars, and our favorite cinema. Shoreditch House which houses Shoredtich East pizza is also just down the street, Brick Lane is a few minutes walk away. And St. Paul's is approximately a 15-20 min walk or 2 stops on the tube and from there you can walk across the river to the Tate Modern - one of our favorite walks on nice days.
Transportation is great. If you are here for the Olympics or even just to tour London, the flat is within a 10 minute walk of Liverpool Street station, which takes you directly to the Olympic site (3 stops) or you can go from here to Oxford Street (6 stops), Kensington, and Notting Hill. Shoreditch Overground station is just 2 min away, and Old Street station can be reached in less than a 10min walk. There are also numerous buses and Boris bikes close by.
Upon arrival, we will provide juice, coffee, tea, and some pastries, and would be happy to loan you a map, and give you a list of our favorite places in London.
The flat is best suited for a single person or a couple.
We love living here and hope you enjoy your stay as much as we do!
This is our home and we expect you to treat it with as much respect as we would.
The studio is pretty amazing, in an unbeatable location in the heart of Shoreditch. Allowing plenty of light, with a balcony offering some beautiful views of the city, a very comfy bed a little kitchen. The only thing to bear in mind are the three flights of stairs, in case one's travelling with a large suitcase, as we were, but I belive, this is clearly stated in the property description. Alexandra left plenty of useful information for us and all the instructions for locking the apartment. Would definitely stay there again.
The reservation was canceled 8 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
the apartment is in one of the coolest places in london. very nice location and the apartment is really lovely for a couple. thank you alexandra!!
The flat is nice and well located, Alexandra and her friend are nice people and were there to welcome us. The neighbourhood of Shoreditch can be noisy at night, lot of pubs and young people having parties but that's also the charm of this district of London and when windows are closed you can sleep quietly.
Alexandra is a great host - very helpful and easy to communicate with. The studio is very spacious, conveniently located in the heart of Shoreditch and close to all transport links (buses, overground, underground, rental bike station, train station). It is very bright and gets lots of sun (providing of course it is sunny in London).
Alexandra and Mikkel were very kind and flexible with our timetable. The apartment was in a great location - close to public transport, restaurants and shops. We also had all the necessities we needed. Thanks!
We are a couple (originally from New York and Denmark) that recently moved to London from New York. We travel often for work and pleasure, and like to sublet our flat while away. We sublet our apartment in New York many times while traveling, and have always had great experiences doing so. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. Enjoy your stay.
