The cool and quiet bedroom on the first floor is steps from the full bathroom, and the kitchen. It sleeps two in a comfortable queen bed. The animas river trail outside the front door will take you to all the attractions offered by the river corridor walk to downtown Durango.
Great family home in arguably the best neighborhood in Durango. You will be centrally located with great access to the river, area trails and the downtown shops and dining establishments. We look forward to sharing our local trail knowledge.
Kitchen and grill use, as well as space in the fridge if space is available. Full shared bathroom, laundry facilities, wifi. Free parking on the street, as well as off street parking, garage space for gear.
Interaction with guests
We like to meet and get to know our guests, giving them local trail knowledge or dining suggestions. However if it is space you need we respect that as well.
Other things to note
To walk at a leisurely pace to the downtown area takes 15 minutes. A bike can get you there in 5 minutes.
Please note that the house is currently being remodeled. There is an unfinished room, for example, as you enter the house. Rest assured however, the bedroom and shared living spaces will be clean, comfortable and ready for you when you arrive.
While the floor tends to feel a bit cool, especially in the morning, we would really appreciate it if you remove your shoes upon entering the kitchen/main area of the house. It can be pretty dusty in Durango, and it makes a big difference when we leave shoes at the kitchen door. Packing a warm pair of socks or slippers for around the house would be a good idea when coming to stay here. Thanks!
My wife Nancy and I live with our two school-aged children in Durango, Colorado. We also have a grown daughter who resides in Denver, Colorado. I am a builder, Nancy is a massage therapist. We like to take advantage of the great outdoor recreation this area has to offer. We enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, river play and the mountain fresh air. The kids 10 and 8 and are very well behaved (most of the time). They love to spend time outdoors exploring their world and just being kids. Other members of our family include a wonderfully lovable 15 year old Chocolate Lab named Dutch, a 6 year old bunny, Professor Nom Nom, and 7 chickens (yes, they have names too!). They are sweet girls and will hopefully be laying by mid-Fall. We love to share them with our guests when available.
Taking time to travel and visit family is important to us. When we hit the rode, whether the destination is near or far, you will likely find us in our comfy remodeled school bus camper---our home away from home!
