Neighborhood has new homes with large lots, quiet cul-de-sac, great friendly neighbors, lots of birds, kids play in yards and streets, and the church bells are heard on the weekends.
Cars recommended, some public transportation but it is a 15 minute walk to Wesleyan University and downtown Middletown. Plenty of parking at house and street is quiet and safe
Other Things to Note
We are working professionals who open our home to guests and love to share family, travel, education, healthcare and New England knowledge.
We love diverse guests and ask that people act as at home and enjoy themselves. Pets are fine and we have 2 large older friendly dogs (Bruno - Great Dane / Kelly - Irish Wolfhound) . House is non-smoking but we have no problem is guest wish to smoke on decks and patio. Please just rinse your dishes and put in the dishwasher and write down anything that Tom should pick up at the market
I had the most wonderful time staying in Tom's beautiful home. He and his wife made me feel right at home. They could not have been any nicer. I was in Middletown visiting my daughter for Wesleyan's parent weekend. They offered me wonderful suggestions on places to eat and sights to see. I would highly recommend staying here when in the area.
We had a great stay at Tom's house in Middletown. The house was beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable for my whole family. Tom was even kind enough to stock his kitchen with breakfast items! We lucked out and the weather was beautiful, and we enjoyed hanging around outside with Tom's lovely dogs as well. We were spending time at nearby Wesleyan University for our reunion weekend, and Tom's house was extremely convenient. We would heartily recommend Tom's house to anyone visiting Middletown and the surrounding areas.
Tom was the consummate host! We were on a whirlwind trip to Yale's graduation and we felt blessed to have such a welcoming, comfortable "home" to come back to at the end of activity filled days. We would definitely stay again should the need arise!
Tom's home was perfect for us. It is in a quiet neighborhood and only about a mile from downtown Middletown. I have to admit that because of our schedule (we were out and about) we spent more time with Tom's dogs than with Tom, but all were excellent company. The entire visit was seamless, and we hope to return again. It was like staying with a friend.
I visited Middletown with my younger brother because he is looking into Wesleyan for college. Tom's house is gorgeous and his two giant dogs are super friendly. We had the entire second floor to ourselves! It was just like coming home.
His house is very close to Main Street where we ordered take out, which was delicious. It is also just a 5 minute drive from Wesleyan, so we were early for the visit!
Tom was very accommodating and warm. Highly recommend the stay here if you are visiting Middletown!
I'm saying this not just because it is near Christmas but is very true - Tom is the host of hosts! I felt like I was visiting and being welcomed by family that I had never met before, not just a place to stay the night. Bruno and Kelly have also been trained in how to be welcoming. Thanks so much for EVERYTHING Tom - I truly hope to be your way again and that I can stay/visit and introduce the rest of my family to you.
Tom is a wonderful host. I plan on asking Tom to stay again some time soon.
He has two gigantic dogs, whose size is only matched by there kindness. His home is wonderfully located between Route 9 and I-91. Tom is a great cook as well, and spoiled my family with meatballs our first night there.
Tom is a gracious host, and I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

Healthcare Executive at Yale University in New Haven CT, with 2 bedrooms plus a large relaxing room with big screen TV, and a bath available on a private floor in my suburban home. Friendly dogs are welcome and I have 2 large, older dogs who are friendly and live primarily in the garage and fenced back patios. My home is within a mile of Wesleyan University and is 2 miles east of I-91Exit 20 (Country Club)
I enjoy guests but I work long hours so I am not always available to meet with house guests. I frequently travel to the west coast and have family on both the east and west coasts.
You should have your own transportation when staying at my home and feel free to use the bicycles, hot tub, and anything in the large kitchen. I do not make breakfast for guest during the weekdays but there is always coffee available (Kuerig) and I make breakfast on weekends.
